Hello

This is my first post on TMD, so I hope I did not make anything wrong Very Happy

I am going to the turnament and I dont know which deck should I choose. First of all the metagame will be unpowered heavy oath, fish and goblin. I am a long ´time oath player but i getting bored to be hated out. I am looking for the deck that should defeat fish, oath and is possible the win against aggro.

I am also thinking about possiblity to tech out my oath by replacing swordable akroma with irescident angel and pristine angel.

Another solution for me is to try some kind of deck with transforming sideboard.

Please gimme som advice if you have any, looking forward for any answer

Instead of using Iridescent Angel in your Oath, check the Dissenssion Simic Sky Swallower, he's huge and trample, and intargettable. I guess it's a better choice.

And concerning a deck for your meta, try GrimLong: you'll kick serious asses with.

Does the tourney allow proxies?  If so, you can probably build Grim Long with 10-12.

Seriously, what's with the spelling? It's not AIM...

Anyways, I'm assuming that most decks are running unpowered here and there's no proxies (otherwise people would be powered). Fish shouldn't be too much of an issue, but between the explosive quickness of Goblins and the massive beats w/ control of Oath I don't really see much room in the way of aggro. Its as if they legalize Oath in Legacy--any kind of aggro deck that beats goblins should probably lose to Oath. Standard Vintage combo is out since you'd need power, so you're basically left with options of control and unpowered combo. Legacy Threshold could be ok (the white splash w/ Swords and Mage will do well vs. Oath, while the red splash w/ burn eats up goblins, you could also try running 4 colors, but only if you have lots of duals and there won't be many Wastelands. Splashing black for Dark Confident might also be good--you can run Duress and board in Engineered Plague vs Goblins). Landstill (manlands, Standstill and Disk/Wrath) could be ok but it's not really that good. If you wanted to try combo there's Gamekeeper/Salvagers, Sensei Sensei, 2 land Belcher or myriad Legacy Tendrils storm decks. If this is after Dissension is legal then you can use Infernal Tutor which could help out in some of these.

The more I think about this the more I think that some combo is the answer. Since the field is so much aggro you won't need to worry about insane disruption. If this is Type 1 Banned/Restricted list then you can't run some combo decks (Salvagers needs 4 Lion's Eye Diamonds), but other combo lists get to add bombs like Mind's Desire, Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Demonic Tutor, Mana Vault, Wheel of Fortune, Necropotence, Yawmoth's Bargain and Yawmoth's Will. Throw in some Rituals and start goldfishing.
