Hello. My username on MTGO is "Islandswamp".
I'm looking for people to practice Vintage with. I really want to get good at the format, and I'm starting to get a lot better.
I've placed in a couple Daily Events, but I want to do better still. If I had someone who is very good at Vintage to play test with, I think that my results in tournaments would get a lot better.
As it is, I tend to win a lot of matches in the Tournament Practice room, but then those results don't exactly translate into wins in the four-round Daily Event. I've placed in a few, like I said, but lately I've been going 2/2 quite a bit.
It would be nice to have someone who, after a match, could tell me if they thought my plays were correct.
Have a nice day, and thanks!
Joe "Islandswamp" Fiorini

I'm happy to give you feedback any time we play, though I usually stick to the paid two-person queues (to minimize the chance of disconnection shenangians, if nothing else).

I used to play the 2-player queues a lot, when I was playing Modern and Standard. When I first started Vintage, it took me a while to get used to the format, so I just played in the Tournament Practice room. There are a decent amount of people playing in the Tournament Practice room that are competent player, but there are also plenty who are not. I think I may have played against you before, but I'm not sure. I hope to see you some time!

Hey there, I can totally relate to your post and think I too would benefit from some more quality pick up games outside of playing the dailies. The tournament practice section is more miss than hit, so it's tough to devote too much time there. I'd welcome you, or anyone else on here (as I'm confident the audience here is skilled or at least with desire to get better) contacting me / each other and perhaps we could get something of a play group going. I have bomberman, tezzcast, & talrand gush put together at the moment. On mtgo my name is No_Outs but if you could post back here or send a private message first on TMD that'd be great.

I'll look for you. I saw your name this past weekend, did you play bomberman this weekend in the dailies? I faced a bomberman deck but I can't remember the name.
I'll send you a message as soon as I'm on and remember to do so.
I think it would be cool to have a pick up league or something like that too.

Thanks for the reply, I'll add you on mtgo and keep an eye out as well. While I did play a few of the dailies this weekend I wasn't playing bomberman. Not 100% if we played or not, the whole weekend was a allergy driven fog unfortunately. Did manage to put up a 3-1 one evening at least.
Planning to make a point to play the evening daily @ 08:30 EST tonight, and am hopeful we can get enough people to fire it. I'll look forward to possibly seeing you and others. Likely be hanging around the tournament practice room a bit before the event.

Usually, my nights are spent working on my articles for a few hours, then trying to get as many games in as I can before I can't stay awake anymore. I usually can't play the dailies until the weekend though, because I have to get up for work the next day. I have TPS, Gush Tendrils, Shops, a BUG Fish deck, Mentor, and Delver, so we could probably have some good testing sessions. See you around!

I guess I've been on MTGO for a while now, but I've never got around to posting here.
I'm UnrestrictGifts, (which in retrospect, ended up being an odd name to pick)
Absolutely feel free to message me/challenge me any time - but there's a >50% that if I'm on mtgo, I'm streaming, so please don't be offended if I don't have a chance to respond, and don't say anything you don't want other people seeing!

The very first Vintage decks I played were your lists actually. Then I played Oath for a while, and I ended up playing against you in my first Vintage daily. I didn't realize who you were until I saw a link to your stream on Twitter. I'll see you around, I'm usually playing every night for at least a little while.

Hi, my MTGO username is pvanbeek. I tend to join the first vintage game that gets hosted in the tournament practice room, but feel free to PM if you want to play test.

Nice to meet you! I'm that luck sack. Seriously though, if you want to test sometimes i'm game. I was going to tell you that I'd downloaded your decks before ,but the daily event was over before I could.

Sounds good.
And yes, I can get salty at times, something I have never been able to shake...

I'll look for you. Good luck with your deck! I think you picked a good one. Yes, the only thing I couldn't do was spend that money they were asking for on Wastelands so I have Ghost Quarters for now, but picked up the Power as I knew I could always use it and everything else. Once the price of those go down (if ever), I'll feel a lot better about tourney play, or maybe I'll just grin and bear it and pick them up in the next few months. Was hoping Tempest Remastered would bring them down...

Was hoping Tempest Remastered would bring them down... They did for about a day or so, you could get them for twenty bucks or so. If you can win some packs with another deck and save up you can get them someday. Ghost Quarter is reasonable somewhat, especially with Crucible. But you'll want the real deal eventually. BTW, try this link to get rid of unwanted cards (paper) for MTGO cards! This is actually how I got my Wastelands. Full Disclosure, This website owns the site I write for. But I do recommend this, I used it and it was fast. http://www.mtgotraders.com/store/papertomtgo.html

p3temangus on MTGO. They say that winter blizzards lead to summertime newborns but since we are already expecting, this blizzard resulted in a new MTGO player.
looking forward to some games!
