Infiltrating shade {U} creature - shade wizzard flying when infiltrating shade deals combat damage to a player, choose one: either defending player discards a card at random, or you draw a card. {U} : Infiltrating shade gets +1/+1 0/3 "distraction and diversion can be used for the same cause"

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

I am not exactly sure what power level this card represents. It mixes elements of Hypnotic Specter, Dimir Cutpurse and Shadowmage Infiltrator. My first impression is that it is probably fair. Unlike either Cutpurse or Infiltrator, this is only going to serve as card advantage. It isn't going to incrementally take down your opponent's life total. Compared to Infiltrator, this is probably easier to block as well. Its ability is weaker than Dimir Cutpurse in that this will only ever shift card advantage by one at a time. It does include the possibility of a random discard, however, albeit in a way that is reasonable in my opinion. If there are any objections to this card, you can probably quell them by making it a 0/4 creature for {U} instead. My only objection to this card is with its flavour. Shades, traditionally, have the ability : ~This~ gets +1/+1 until end of turn. By contrast, this creature's abilities bear a much stronger resemblance to creatures that have been classified before as Specters. I would like to see you find a way to make this a Specter instead of a Shade.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

I am so sorry, I forgot its main ability Infiltrating shade {U} creature - shade wizzard flying when infiltrating shade attacks, and it is unblocked, choose one: either defending player discards a card at random, or you draw a card. {U} : Infiltrating shade gets +1/+1 0/3 I dont know how I forgot this, because that was the reason I created it. so sorry.

In that case, I think that it needs to have its card drawing/discarding ability changed to trigger off combat damage. Otherwise, you can play this and then it usually pays to attack with it, whether you pump it up or not. With that ability, I think you need to be encouraged to pump a little bit of mana into this to get the card drawing/discarding benefit.

I think this card would be balanced.

I think maybe it should lose the flying, or cost four. This card has a lot of flexibility, so it should cost more than Infiltrator and Hypnotic Specter as a result. Another thing to watch out about this card is it is a strong early game creature, since it nets you card advantage, a strong midgame creature, since it has evasion, and a strong late game creature, since it can filter all your excess mana and act almost as a kill. I'm just a little bit worried that that makes it a little too strong for 3 mana.

thing is, you need one AND mana to get the +1/+1 ability anyway, so if you cast it on the third turn, then 4th turn you need to use 2 mana for the ability. 4 mana would make it too expensive. 0/2 would make it too weak. without flying maybe, I just think 2 mana for the +1/+1 boost isnt too much. maybe a normal discard, and not a random. another good thing is that if people give it haste with lightning greaves, that they need 5 mana, so thats another good thing to make it balanced. why am I actually saying all this, its an idea for a card which wont come out ever... I think Imight make some cards like this, and play a game with my friends. we all make 4 cards, and then we all use the cards we want ( not overpowered cards abviously.... except me, I can have 4 copies of ancient recall in my deck; target player draws 4 cards   )

why am I actually saying all this, its an idea for a card which wont come out ever... Although this card probably won't ever be printed, we try to create cards here with the idea that they could be. It's an understandable attitude, but it's one that you may wish to discard. (ba-dum *ching*)
