I have just recently picked up playing gifts. I would like the opinions of more experienced gifts players if mind's desire is a good inclusion for gifts decks. I will post a list if we can get a good discussion going. The main reason I want to run desire is to increase the chance of an all out tendrils kill. The gifts for tinker, will, recoup, walk is all good and fun, but tendrils for 20+ is just fantastic. Opinions please!  Very Happy

I'd have to agree with steve, desire doesn't work optimally in a gifts list.  Mind's desire needs to be run in a deck with a lot of broken spells.  Fizzling a desire for 5 will happen much more in a deck like gifts than tps, iT, or grim long.  The more you try to tweak your gifts list to get the most benefit from desire, the more you turn into combo.

I have to agree with Steve, the problem is that turning over D7's, Tutors one of the four bombs or acceleration in comparison to counter spells and lands leaves something to be desired, pun intended. That said, if your a total luck sack and aren't in an environment where Misdirection is "all that hot" it may be worth including (tho' I'd be so much more tempted to add Vampiric).

On an off note, does any one else think Hurkyl's and Chain are better than Rebuild and Truth?

I'm on a Rebuild and Chain. I dislike Hurkyl's. Chalice @ 2 hurts this deck a lot more than Chalice @ 1, and I want both of my bounce spells to answer Chalice. Rebuild is also better when you want to win through a chalice/rod/tangle wire, etc.
