This is definatly an on color combat trick that I think blue can handle.  Although this ability has drifted more toward white, it is definalty flavorful in blue.

This feels too white. Why not use the definitely-blue Meishin mechanic (-X/-0)?

Ghosts of the Innocent shows this is a white mechanic.  I like a Marsh Gas effect in blue, but tie it to hand size or something uniquely blue.
