Hey everyone... I just came up with this decklist. I am not a very experienced "fish" player. I usually play Drain decks, however, I do love MBC. I wanted to take the best parts of MBC/Sui with the power of Blue. My main question is whether the threat/disruption density are at the appropriate levels. I will explain more after the decklist.

Creatures
4 Withered Wretch
3 Dark Confidant
4 Phyrexian Negator

Disruption
4 Duress
4 Chalice of the Void
3 Stifle
2 Diabolic Edict
1 Chain of Vapor

Brokenness
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Timewalk
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Demonic Consultation
1 Necropotence
1 Yawgmoth’s Will
1 Skeletal Scrying

Acceleration
4 Dark Ritual
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Black Lotus

Lands
1 Strip Mine
4 Wastemand
2 Underground Sea
4 Polluted Delta
7 Swamp
3 Island

I probably don't have to explain the creature package. The three creatures I chose are standard are accepted as the best for what they do.

The disruption is again, pretty standard. I opted for the Stifles over the Sinkholes for their diversity of hitting Fetches, Wastes, and Tendrils. The double Edict/Chain may seem a little extreme, however a resolved Tinker is pretty much game over with out them.

The broken section is probably the most arguable.
1 Ancestral Recall-> No question
1 Timewalk-> No question
1 Demonic Tutor-> Is a 2 cc sorcery good in a deck that wants to through out threats? (Can get Will)
1 Demonic Consultation-> Very redundant deck, good if you need that last threat.
1 Necropotence-> Cast off Rit first turn, don't look back from there.
1 Yawgmoth’s Will-> Although not the "win" card it is in most decks, if you get a yard full of Rits, Powerblue, creatures etc, Will is still really good.
1 Skeletal Scrying-> A good burst of draw to complement the Ancestral. The Confidants are very enduring, but sometimes you just to fill your hand up.

Back to my inital question, is there enough threats to finish the amazing disruption this deck packs?

Finally, here is a play scenerio that came up while goldfishing. This deck has so many great 1st turn plays.

On the [PLAY]:
Polluted Delta, Swamp, Chalice, Duress, Stifle, Dark Ritual, Phyrexian Negator

You have 3 pretty good plays:

Swamp-> Duress (follow up with Chalice for "0" if it stops a threat/play)

Polluted Delta-> Chalice for "0"->Pass (wait to Stifle)

Swamp->Chalice for "0"-> Dark Ritual-> Negator

Against an unknown deck, what would you do? Thanks for reading and I look forward to the discussion that follows.

[EDIT] Fixed mis-type, it was supposed to be on the Play against an unknown deck.

I'm not sure how you can be on the draw against an un-known deck... but on the PLAY I would do this...

-Before you even play a land, Chalice for 0.
---If they counter chalice for 0 then land -> duress (because they are obviously planning on being fast)
---If they dont counter chalice for 0, then delta, pass.  and hope they play a turn 1 fetchland.

About the worst thing that could happen is either an uber-nasty multiple tutor/ multiple force backer/mana nasty hand where they can afford to force the chalice AND still win through a durress. not impossible, but its not like negator was going to win ~that~ game.  But Barring insanity, the worst case senario for you is probably they turn out to be Slaver and they play turn 1 volcanic -> welder without useing a fetchland.  But even then you've crippled them by cutting off easy tinkerable/weldable moxen.  turn 2 duress, and turn 3 rit for negator.

Thats a fantastic mana denial hand.  If you are truely on the draw, then its a rather weak hand, and your best bet might be Turn 1 Rit -> Chalice for 1.  That hurts alot of decks.  Then turn 2 land. Turn 3 hope for a land to drop negator?  Its not a very good hand on the draw you have 3 "on the play" cards with no force.

Perhaps you could try out 2 Merchant Scroll + another Chain/Rebuild in the Diabolic Edict and Skeletal Scrying slots so you will always find a way to kill Colossus. Merchant Scroll isn't always dead as it can always grab Recall or Force unlike Edict.

Is there any particular reason for not running Lotus Petal?

Why only 3 Confidant?

I think the deck looks cool with a good disruption package and lots of random brokeness.

With all that combo acceleration, a tendrils might be a nice touch as a backup kill, even as a mini tendrils.

Hmm, never thought about Merchant Scroll, my only worry about Scroll is the same thing I am thinking about Demonic Tutor, 2cc sorcery that isn't disruption or a threat, isn't great, but it is defiantly worth looking at.

There are two reasons for only 3 Confidants. The first is I only have 3, but getting the forth isn't a problem. When I was goldfishing, I just threw in a Scrying and found it to be really good, so I think I want to leave i in.

@goobafish: I don't think I want a ToA clogging up starting hands, although with all the life loss from Necro, Confidants and Scrying, maybe 1 Tendrils would be okay. I would defianatly give it a shot.
