I've won a few two-headed giant constructed tournaments now with a combination that is the best I can think of. My question to TMD: is there anything better? First the decks, then a bit of explanation/theory, and then discussion?

//Two-headed Gifts/Muddle Heartbeat
4 Gifts Ungiven
4 Compulsive Research
2 Recollect
1 Perplex
4 Drift Of Phantasms
4 Muddle the Mixture
1 Weird Harvest
4 Heartbeat of Spring
4 Early Harvest
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Kodama's Reach
1 Maga, Traitor to Mortals
1 Invoke the Firemind
11 Forest
9 Island
1 Swamp
1 Mountain

// Two-headed Mono-U Control
// 22 Counters
4 Remand
2 Disrupting Shoal
4 Mana Leak
4 Remove Soul
4 Spell Snare
4 Hinder
// 8 Tempo
4 Gigadrowse
4 Boomerang
// 8 Search
4 Vision Skeins
4 Telling Time
// 22 Land
22 Island

I have been going for a Gifts-Heartbeat that is able to easily secure the 40 lifeloss/damage necessary to kill (many times capable of kills in excess of 80) with a Mono Blue Control deck to complement it. The MUC deck is defined by lots of counters and some tempo cards plus search that can function as discard for the opposing team and 2 more cards for Heartbeat, in addition to the obvious restocking counters. So far, I am 16-0 in tournament play (3 tournaments with decent tournouts of 10+ teams) with this combination and have only been tweaking the MUC build (I kinda want Quash).

So, is modified heatbeat + counters the best route to go? What are some of the other strategies you've seen, thought about, or used for Two-headed Giant Constructed? Is there anything glaringly missing in either list, or anything that deserves more explanation?

I played in a tourney, and we went with modified Husk + Dovescape (although we cutted the Husks/Isamarus and more, for more disruption). Basically, Husk's task was to make sure the Dovescape resolved, and then ride Pontiff + Guildmage to victory. We won that tourney.
