Hi Everyone.

Years ago I was given a shoebox full of magic cards (approx 2500), i have no clue what editions they are from.  How do you determine this?  Also, I want to know how much they are worth, but need to know what editions they are from to do this.  Anyone's help on this would be great, I want them to go to someone who will use them as i have never been much of a player.  They are all near mint condition and there are even Spanish and Japanese cards in there!  I know some are worth more than others.  I have Goblin Bowling Team and Wizards of the Coast Customer Service in there, but no search shows them up.

Would someone please help?

Cheers

Also, editing your post for spelling and grammar.  Internet slangs/shortcuts aren't TMD friendly, so keep that in mind for the future.

First off, welcome to TMD!

There are some rules of posting on this forum, of which you can access under the topic at the very top of the forum.  I suggest reading them through.

I'm going to go ahead and move this topic to Basic User Community, as well as edit your post formatting so it looks a little less wonky.

I'll tell you quickly that, unless you got the shoebox from someone who played a lot of tournament Magic, there probably isn't a lot of value there.  But honestly, I think your question would be better answered at a forum like Magic Library, where there are whole forums dedicated to answering questions about value and how to identify editions and such.  They'd also give you the best sense of value for whatever foreign cards you have.  Good luck with your project.

This page has a guide to every expansion symbol, and you can use gatherer.wizards.com to help identify foreign cards further (such as searching for "red creatures in ice age" etc.).

Also, if you would like to turn it into cash, the folks at www.starcitygames.com buy collections and they are very fine to do business with.
