another question about illusionary mask

X: Put a creature card with converted mana cost X or less from your hand into play face down as a 0/1 creature. Put X mask counters on that creature. Play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery. You may turn the creature face up any time you could play an instant by removing all mask counters from it.

As i read it i could attack with a 0/1 creature and when it is not blocked it would deal no damage.
Another thing is, if a creature has a cumulative upkeep, do you need to pay that upkeep or can you choose to keep it a 0/1 untill you choose to turn it around.

I ask these questions as the text on the card is a lot different.

It doesn't have Cumulative Upkeep when it's face down, so you don't need to pay the Cumulative Upkeep.

You don't need to flip the creature face up, so you can attack with the 0/1 and have it deal no damage.

It should be noted that Illusionary Mask's current functionality is very different than what is printed on the card. Go by the Oracle wording. You can also check the Onslaught FAQ for the rules on morph and face-down permanents.
