Quote from: Jotun Grunt
Cumulative upkeep-Put two cards in a single graveyard on the bottom of their owner's library. (At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice it unless you pay its upkeep cost for each age counter on it.)

I like the new "Oracle wording or lock" policy on the rules thread. I don't like spending forever looking up Oracle wordings for obscure cards just to help someone out. Considering that one person could look it up and post it in the opening post, or everyone has to look it up to reply.

The question asked in the locked thread was: Can I respond to Jotun Grunt's ability after they choose what they're removing?

The answer is: The cards removed for the Jotun Grunt's ability are chosen when it resolves. At that point, it is too late to respond. You cannot Weld, or otherwise alter the cards before they are removed from the game. If you want to Weld in response to the Grunt's ability, you have to do it without knowing what they intend to remove.

How about choosing a non-legend creature? Otherwise he is a UG instant Wrath of Frog.
