Here's a quick report about my undefeated run at Myriad Games.  I ran a fairly conventional Gifts list.  I appologize for any inaccuracies, as I did not take notes.  Anyone who's name I missed can PM me and I'll include them.

Round 1 Sara Yarrington with The Elvish Inquisition (BWR aggro)

Game 1 I win through some disruption.  Withered Wretch and Confidant slowed me down a little, but I eventually combo out.
Game 2 On her turn 2 she taps out for a confidant.  I win on turn 2.  I comment on how that was the fastest I had ever won with the deck.

Round 2 Mono U fish (Older than High School aged guy)
He was a nice guy.  It was unfortunate for him that I drew so well as the games weren't really close at all.
Game 1 He goes island flying men pass.  I killed him on my turn.  That was my first turn 1 kill with Gifts.
Game 2 I bait out waste effects with an underground and a tolarian.  Library sticks and I start drawing tons of cards.  He goes for a Flying Men.  Since it was the only spell he played game one, I assume it's an important one.  I respond with Gifts, he forces, I misdirect his force to his Flying Men.  Without flying men to pressure me, I continue drawing tons of cards and win.

Round 3 Control Slaver (Guy still in High School)

I get paired down.
Game one This ones a blow out with Tendrils for the kill.
Game 2 He gets a stong lead, but doesn't seal the deal.  The game drags on for quite a while, with crypt and goblin welder beats chipping away at my life total.  The game takes forever, and I finally die with not very much time left for Game 3.
Game 3 I'm in a good spot, as my deck can win in the remaining time, but his cannot.  He manages to make it so I cannot win with Jester's Cap activations, but we go to time for a draw.

Round 4 Pat Broderick with Gifts

He lost to BrassMan earlier, so he offers a draw.  That would mean we'd both need wins next round so I decline.  This way, no matter what one of us is in.  I need to win either this round or next round to make it to T8.  Pat needs to win this round or get some help to make it on tie breakers.  Taking a draw here would have been the same for me as scooping.
Game 1 He destroyed me
Game 2 I misdirected Ancestral
Game 3 Library won it for me.  The game was over when I misdirected his ancestral.

Round 5 Chad Behre w/TMWA

I play it out to try and help Pat's tie breakers.  I was not happy to show him my sideboard options, as I will likely play him in the Top 8.  His deck is BRW Aggro with tons of welder hate.

Game 1He wins with me not really getting any mana development.
Game 2 He doens't really draw enough disruption to slow me down.
Game 3 Pretty much the same as Game 2.

Top 8 Brassman with Ichorid

Game 1 He wins as I draw tons of dead counters.
Game 2 I tinker Collosus and he can't race it.
Game 3 I bounce Leyline and try and kill with Will/Tendrils.  I remember that Pat had lost to stifle, and I decide I want to end the game with a collosus in play.  This makes me lose a lethal storm count, but I was in no danger of losing the game as I had tormod's crypt.  I may have been able to play it out so I could have done both by tinkering for mana vault before Will.  Regardless, he does't draw balance and I win 2 turns later.

Top 4 Chad Behre w/TMWA (from last round of swiss)

He was in the middle of a 75 mintue mirror match, so I played the T-shirt Challenge.  Glad to finally win it.

Game 1 and 2 are similar.  Basically fish w/o Force of Will is very much in my favor.

Finals Travis LaPlante

I hadn't been playing that well since round 4 and We decide to split.
I end up with a Grim Tutor, a Foil Tormod's Crypt and a Foil Ohran Viper, which is not bad for a $20 entry fee.  I look foward to their next event.

PS Mods - what happened to the spell check function???

Nice!

Congratulations on the victory!

Thanks for the well-written report Eric.

Your report is further evidence that Library of Alexandria is a ridiculous card in any mana drain deck.

It was me. Yes, he absolutly wrecked me, but one interesting tidbit he left out: on game 2 I was holding a trickbind, and I believe he had to make a choice on mind twist or another card through brainstorm- he chose right, but the DSC got me anyways. Good games, too bad I wasnt much of an opponent. Grats ELD, and also grats to Myraid for another fun tourney.
I had some great games against travis, and also got to play against ichorid for the first time. good times all around, see you all on the 11th hopefully for the next one.
