Second Pick
{4}
Artifact Creature -- Construct
3/3
If you pick ~this~ during a draft, you may reveal it. At any time during the draft while ~this~ is revealed, you may pick an additional card from your pack. If you do, pass ~this~ to the next player along with that pack. That player adds ~this~ to his card pool instead of picking a card from that pack.

I don't know if this is too far outside the game for a card, but Wizards has printed mulligan cards and other cards that effect "before the game starts". This could easily see print in an Un- set as well, and might be a good card for unsanctioned draft formats like Type 4.

Hmm i kinda like this, i feel that its a very strong card in draft.
One note though, its gonna feel really weird in constructed Smile

I don't think it'll feel weird in constructed. Nobody will play it in contructed.

It is very similar in style to ante cards, and that is a dangerous place to be.

The 'mulligan phase' cards sort of assume a game's in progress though.  This card has an effect where there's not actually a game of Magic taking place.  It's like if I try to Lightning Bolt the guy at the hot dog stand, it's sort of irrelevant and I'll probably not get a hot dog from him afterwards.
Wish this card was in the current Limited format.  Pick it first pack, then open my second and pull the rare AND the timeshifted rare.  Phat

This card is awful gamewise. There is no way you can handle its effect properly in big tournaments with multiple drafts pods running at the same time, because it will cause delay at the table where the player uses it.

I hate it.  Too easy to cheat, not fun, and the worst thing about it: It's not a magic card.  Things like ESG are design mistakes because they're not fundamentally used as Magic cards.  Is ESG ever a creature?  Only if you're JD.  Same with this.
