When a card (specifically DSC) has the "indestructible" ability is it only for lethal damage and destroy effects or is it also for things like "bury" and "sacrifice".

Ex:  I have a DSC and it is Vindicated:no effect.  It is Edicted, does it die or does it still survive to win another game??

Thanks Much

Bury is an antiquated ability that now reads as "Destroy <something>. It can't be regenerated" - that would it a destroy effect that indestructible prevents.

Sacrifice is not prevented by indestructible. It is not a destroy effect.

To answer your first question, yes, destroy effects (effects that specifically say "destroy") and lethal damage are the only things that indestructible prevents.

There's no special meaning or rules to "indestructible."  It means exactly what one would find out if they checked a dictionary, "Can't be destroyed."  If something would destroy it, it doesn't get destroyed.  Lethal damage is a "destroy" effect (CR 420.5c).  Sacrifice, remove from game, the legend rule, going to the graveyard due to 0 toughness, are not.

That's very true, but the ability is still confusing to many players because not everyone has a really thorough knowledge of the CR.  It's not as though it's somehow directly intuitive that lethal damage kills a creature by "destroying" it but 0 toughness or the Legend rule kill a creature by "sending it to the graveyard."  These thing were just decided at some point, and not everyone knows which is which.  That's why the reminder text says, "'destroy' effects and lethal damage."  If everyone was expected to have this knowledge, no reminder text would have been needed, or, at the very least, only "'destroy effects'" would have been necessary.

You also referance "bury" in your post.  "Bury" no longer exsists as a term in magic.  All of those cards have been errated to something like: Destroy ... and cannot be regenerated.  So old cards that read "bury" are destroy effects.
