As a result of the Mox tournament in Colombus, RIW has moved its monthly Mox tournament back one week to the Sunday of the third.

On Sunday March 4th RIW Hobbies will be holding a 10 proxy Vintage event, with the first prize being an Unlimited Mox Jet.   The store will open at 11am, Deck registration will begin at noon, and the Event will begin at one PM.  We will have a Judge on hand to answer questions and run the event.  Hope to see you all there!

Cheers,

Noted and corrected.

Fresh off my rampage in Ohio, I'm looking forward to bashing  you all in Michigan.

I laugh at this and don't even know what it means.

Team Extreme's Toledo contiongent will be there ready to hop in a side event as soon as I go 0-2.......w00t

If anyone mulls to 4 and beats me I just may retire from type 1.

This tourny was SICK!!!!!!!

I had  a blast and I cannot wait for the next one. Congrats to Demars for taking 1st.

Props
- coffee
- Playing against Josh Franklin for the 1st time. That guy is good!
- Tog for treating me so well.
- RIW for hosting sweet mox tourny's.
- JDizzle for making a special guest apperance. That gut will never be forgotten!
- Team OG, And the rest of the Michigan gamers for letting me tag along to Olive Garden to celebrate JD's Birthday.
- Multipal rounds of beer. So good!

Slops
- I did not see any shirts with bananas on them.
- Being the only person from Ohio who plays Vintage in other states. For real, where was the rest of Ohio at?
- Not having a lighter.
- Getting iron lung.
- Having to live with the name "Ohio kid" for the day.
- never say "Where's my dude at?" when there are Canadians around. Its not good and I would advise against it.

It was a fantastic event... and thanks to everybody for playing.

It was extremely 'vintage' Vintage yesterday as a very high percentage of the field was particularly old school.  Pac, Jeremy, Droba, Franklin, Ray and Ben Perry all made it out.  I felt like we were dueling in 2004!

Here is how the whole thing played out in case anybody is interested.

1st.  FFY (me) playing Burning Slaver
2nd Pacmanxsa playing 5c Stax
3rd Phil Cape playing his very interesting 'stray fish' Fish deck
4th Jeremy playing UG Fish

I would like to thank the Canadians for the beers, and assert that by the end of the night pretty much everybody at our Olive Garden 'table for 10' felt kind of like a team OG player!

Happy Birthday Lance!  I mean, Justin Droba.

See you all next month!

Cheers,

ffy

It's time once again for Pac's props/slops!

Props:

Friggin' DeMars
Necrophelia + EITD
Franklin + Mints + Nametags
Dirty playing Timetwisters instead of Bargains
Ohio kid's saying "Where's my dude at?"
Dizzles wearing pink + scarves ftw
New guy calling me while I was nude in the shower
Phil Cape baby
Judge Daves snoring
Olive Garden... I love you... Still full

Slops:

Continuously finishing high but not winning
Timetwister
Attendance
No banana shirts
No asian kids named Snorlax wearing aforementioned banana shirts
Revikk in general
Michigan bastards that owe me like 30 rounds of beer
Slivers... pfft
Ohio (No Mennendian, Lockivar or Trogden?  Wtf?)
Shawn's ass for breaking the coaster

Even though attendance sucked, this was still one of the most memorable events in recent memory.  With 13 people showing up and 11 sitting at an Olive Garden table after the event, there is no doubt that Vintage is by far the most community oriented format.  Period.

Wow, a mention in a tournament forum for not appearing.  I guess I can add missed by Canada to my list of accolades.

Unfortunately, the three-hour drive kept me out of this one, especially since I could play Legacy (a format I discovered is almost totally unlike Vintage)  in my own backyard for less money.  I'll make it back to Michigan at some point, though.  Vintage is the best format, and the after-tournament meal is secretly my favorite part.  Someday, you all should come to Columbus for Thurman's.  The first round is on me.
