How to use Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir

Can somebody explain how Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir can be used effectively?

Hello, and welcome to The Mana Drain. This is your first post, so you might be unaware that this forum functions a bit differently from most online Magic discussion sites. Teferi can be used in many ways, from stopping a Counter deck to giving Blue a removal spell against small attacking creatures. However, in order to respond and help you, we need more information. Well the usual way to cast him is EOT on your opponents end step, then you untap and your opponent cant play stuff on your turn any more. Also it stops madness, and probably a few other things due to odd rulings.

Your opponent cant use counter magic once he is in play, nor can they respond to your counter magic since they cant play things at instant speed.
