Trekked out to Blue Bell this morning to play five rounds and scrub out with a 2-3 record. Happens, I guess. Anyway, you're here for the results.

25 players

Top 8:

Rec-Sur defeats B/W discard
Boros Deck Wins defeats GRb Belcher
UWbg Landstill defeats GR Belcher
Iggy Pop defeats Goblins

Didn't see the last two rounds, but congrats to Andy who placed in 2 Top 8's in two days. Apparently the guy knows his Rec-Sur.

Because the deck is retardedly degenerate.

I think its because the new lists are basically two colors...so there are less mana problems

As well as with warrens, wish, AND belcher you have ready access to a kill condition a little bit more frequently then the older lists.

Well, I can't give you all the exact decklists, but I can give you the highlights that I saw...

Rec-Sur: A five color deck with a lot of one-ofs, Cabal Therapies, and Sliver Queen. He also had an alternate win with Burning Wish for Coalition Victory. There are about 40+ tally marks on it from people who lost that way.

Landstill: This deck looked fairly stock for the BHWC deck, using Pernicious Deed, StP, Stifles, Crucibles, and manlands

Iggy Pop: Fairly mainstream build with an interesting addition in the form of a mana base that uses Ancient Tombs and 3+ USeas. Also, I'm fairly certain he splashed white for Chants in the board.

BDW: Bolt, Chain Lightning, Fireblast, Cursed Scroll, Jotun Grunt are the only cards I remember seeing--other than the SB Null Rod

Goblins: All I know is that it was mono-red

R/G Belcher: Mirri's Guile, lots of accel, one land, and no Warrens

R/G/b Belcher: A lot like the new CRET Belcher that did so well in Canada

The last deck I actually do know since I built it for my friend who piloted it to the T8. I'm only posting it for ridiculousness value. In reality, I'm fairly certain it was a fluke:

B/W Junk

4 Dark Confidant
4 Ravenous Rats
3 Stonecloaker
2 Jotun Grunt
2 Withered Wretch
1 Hypnotic Specter

4 Duress
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Dark Ritual
4 Hymn to Tourach
3 Cabal Therapy
3 Funeral Charm
2 Umezawa's Jitte

2 Wasteland
2 Orzhov Basilica
10 Swamp
6 Plains

SB:
3 Winter Orb
3 Engineered Plague
2 Perish
2 Disenchant
2 Seal of Cleansing
2 Massacre
1 Damnation

So, I test/play Iggy Pop for 6 months and do horrendously and take my buddy, who just goes on a whim, build him a crappy deck, and watch him T8. If I weren't so stunned, I might have been pissed!
