Humor Forum not open to all?

I've pm'ed a moderator last week I believe when I tried to post in the humor forum but was unable to. Now I realize that it's not just me, the only people I see posting in it are mods/adepts/full members. Why is this? I don't understand the purpose of having full/basic members. I realize the importance of having mods and when there were separated boards for full/basic members to post in (to keep the serious discussions on topic and for more advanced players) but I don't see the importance of needing full member status to post in the humor forum. So my question is, why aren't basic members allowed to post in the humor forum?

The short version is, the humor forum is for funny topics.  When everybody is allowed to post, we get spammed to high hell with completely unfunny threads.

That is because only full members and moderators have a sense of humor..../sarcasm

I honestly think it's a little stupid, i can definetly see the spam aspect, but honestly i find that atleast 50% of the content of the humor forum is pretty boring as is...Opening it would increase both the number of useless topics aswell as more funny ones.

This is the same forum in which we've had to take moderator action against usernames glorifying the holocaust.  Some peoples' idea of humor is laughing at genocide.  Now while I respect not every basic user acts and thinks like this, it's one obvious example of many for things that don't tend to slip through the cracks with folks that become full members.

If you have something really funny you want to share, meet someone who's a full member, make a friend, and have them post it.  And if they don't, then you know it's not worth posting.
