At my last event, the strongest of New England's Vintage players fought for their share of immortality.  With not one, but two, pieces of power on the line for the Top 2, almost anyone would be content just to make it to the finals.  Anyone except tournament veterans Rich Shay and Stephan Houdlette.  These two forces of Vintage Magic battled it out, and in the end Rich was able to call himself the undisputed winner of ELD's Mox VI.

The metagame started to define itself, with GAT proving to be the most successful deck.  Can the field adapt to face this new menace?  Can GAT continue to evolve to deal with the hate that is now aimed at it's head?  Can anyone explain the success of Bomberman?  Is that seriously URPhid in the top 8?  All these pressing questions will be answered when New England's best players fight it out at ELD's Mox Tournament VII.

First place prize will be a Time Walk.

Here are the details:
ELD's Mox Tournament VII
Saturday, July 28th, 2007
$25 Entry Fee

with
Scholar's
34 Central Sq
Bridgewater, MA
Phone: (508) 279-1712

The event will be at Cole Hall.  It is the next building over from the church on the rotary.

Prizes for 32 players

1st - UL Signed Time Walk
2nd - Choice of Timetwister, Mana Drain, Grim Tutor or Beta Wheel of Fortune
3rd - Playset of 4x Force of Will
4th - Foil Flooded Strand
5th-8th Choice of TWO cards from a pool of Type 1 goodness.  These cards include Foil Rack and Ruin, Foil Rebuild, Foil Pyroclasm, Foil Unmask, Beta Channel, one of my previous proxies and much more.

I am going to give away the Time Walk regardless of attendance.  Other places will be adjusted down if there are less than 32 players.  Prizes will be adjusted up if we have more than 32.  100% of the entry fees will be put towards the prizes.  That's what to expect out of all of my tournaments.  There is a very strong chance that we will get over 32 players.  I would not be surprised if we get over 40.

A Limited Edition hand-made Time Walk Proxy will be given to every participant.  These proxies will not count towards your proxy count for all my future events, or at any of Myriad Games monthly Vintage events.  I will only be making 50 of these.  These are the proxies I have made so far.

Pre-registration puts you in a drawing for a bonus prize.
I will unveil the bonus prize as we get closer to the event.  You can do this by sending me a PM or an e-mail at EricELD@comcast.net  You do not pay until the day of the event, this is just to help with estimating the attendance.  This is my way of saying thank you to everyone who pre-registers.  It does make running the events much easier.

Cost

$25 for up to 15 proxies.  The Handmade Proxies from my previous events does not count towards your proxy count.

Registration will begin at 11:00.  The tournament will begin promptly at 12 pm.
Swiss rounds based on attendance.  Cut to top 8.

Proxy rules
15 Proxies allowed.  My previous handmade proxies do not count towards your proxy limit.

I will be buying cards.
      Commons/Uncommons/Lands mixed (at least 10% uncommon) @ $5 per 1000
      Bulk rares @ $0.10 each
      Bulk Foils @ $0.05 each
Bulk Foil Rares @ $0.25 each
I'll be buying any and all cards – turn your unwanted cards into cash!

This tournament looks awesome but you've scheduled it on the same day as hadley's mox/drain tourney... which is almost certainly going to end up hurting both parties =/

I don't know if you were aware of their tourney or not but I'd strongly suggest reconsidering the date.  I doubt either tourney will be able to give out its advertised prize support if you're both taking players away from each other.

Knowing this is Eric, it's hard to imagine it's a mistake.  What are you thinking?

The issue with Hadley has been resolved.  They have moved their event to Sunday, August 5th.

Can you really call it ELD's Mox VII if you're giving away a time walk instead of a mox?

Absolutely.  Aside from keeping the same name as the other events, I have a wide selection of Moxen that could end up as part of the prize structure.  With all of my events, all the entry fees go towards the prize pool, so second place being a Mox is very possible.

The Time Walks are nearing completion.  Here's a sneak peek at a colored one.  I hope to have enough time to do highlight colors, to add some depth.

The proxies are nearly done.  No matter how much time I give myself, they always go down to the wire.  I just keep trying to improve on them as I go.  This is after some additional highlights.

The door prize.  Foil Mishra's Workshop Proxy.  These take forever, and are much more challenging to work with.  If the feedback is positive, I will do one foil per event from now on as a door prize.

God do I hate statements like that, even if they are supposed to be exaggerated :p

I am coming up to this for the first time in a while.  I don't have to work on a saturday thank god.  I think my car will include a shaytog and a tool and even possibly...

a dana!

I am looking forward to this.  I am not a strong new england vintage player so it'll be nice to try my hand at these legendary strong people.

You totally made that statement to make me come to this... well done eric  :p

See you there.
