Sylvan Library and Dredge?

Can you get around paying life for the extra 2 cards drawn by dredging then putting them back on top of your library?

I think that if you dredge cards you would have drawn with SL,or any draw for that matter,  dredge is a replacement effect and negates any possible tiggers or events that happen due to cards that would have been drawn.

So you could activate SL then dredge those two cards instead. You dredge for however many cards your dredge cards let you and then SL says 'well you didnt actually draw any cards, so you do not have to pay life or return cards to your library'.
