At our last power tournament 29 people showed up making for a very nice prize pool. With a solid group showing up to Hadlley events, I'm going to go ahead and announce our next one.

Where:
X-9 Games (New, improved location in mall!)
Hampshire Mall
367 Russell Street
Hadley, MA 01035

When: Sunday September 24rd, 2007. Last time I only did deckreg for the top 8 and I think everyone was infinitely happier this way. Registration starts at 12:00 Noon, Tournament starts promptly at 1:00 pm so we can all get in a little extra drinking Saturday.

Entry Fee: $20 and 15 Proxies

Prize Structure Depends on number of entries, all money to prizes.
20 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain
24 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Two/One dual of choice. 5-8th 1 Draft Set
27 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Three/Two dual of choice. 5-8th 1 Draft Set
30 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Three/Two dual of choice, 5-8th 2 Draft Sets
33 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Library of Alexandria, 3rd/4th Three/Two dual of choice, 5-8th 2 Draft Sets
36 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Library of Alexandria, 3rd/4th Italian Signed Mana Drain/Three dual of choice, 5-8th 2 Draft Sets
38 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Library of Alexandria, 3rd/4th Italian Signed Mana Drain each, 5-8th 2 Draft Sets

So I tried out the top heavy prize support and it worked out pretty well. I bumped down the number of people needed for the draft sets so as to try and start spreading the wealth with fewer entrants.

Is this a decent prize structure? Let me know if it's good enough or not either via PM or responses here.

Hope to see all of you that came out last time!

Lets set up the tourney a bit better if possible (seating with smaller chairs?) and we need like some anti-magic funk devices cause it smelt extremely funky last time.  I'll make an appearance if there is partying the night before!

There will be partying the night before, as always.

And maybe that funk was the smell of your own dirty ass? L2shower.

I assure you my massive 120 pound body emits no toxic vapors as that of the magic funk that was encountered on that day.

Yeah, my girlfriend mentioned that too.  Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything Kaleb or the store owners can do.  While T1 players fare better than the average gamer, gamers in general have a 'funk' that comes from years of lack of showering and deodorant, and eating greasy, garlic and salt laden foods.  Learn to embrace your bretheren (not literally, of course).

I don't know if I'll come in first or last, but I plan on beating the crap out of Outlaw along the way.

RIP Mogg Fanatic...at least you are still better than Fire Bowman!!!

I was once asked on MWS, what the highest I ever finished at a TMD Open was.  I replied, "I've never played in a Waterbury.  I was then called "A TOTAL NOOB!"

Side note, are ELD proxies following the rule they use for his events and Myriad, or are they just normal proxy slots?

As of now, ELD's proxies don't count as "real" cards at Hadley events. I hadn't even thought about it nor been contacted by ELD to consider it.

I personally think that 15 proxies is more than enough for anyone to build any deck. Is there an overwhelming preference for them to count as "real" cards?
