Flatcon is a tourney held every year the first weekend in October. It has been growing every year and this year we decided to lure all the Type 1 players in the midwest with a guaranteed Mox Sapphire pay-out tourney.
I will post more precise information in a week or two, but here's what we know so far:
Date: Saturday, October 6, 2007
Time: 11 AM Central Time, please come prepared with a decklist with proxies identified.
Cost: The con costs $18 if you pre-reg ($20 at the door) for all three days. The event proper costs an additional $7 (making a total of the somewhat standard $25 if you pre-reg). Your $18 fee covers almost all other events at the convention, and if you want to make a weekend of it, there are many other things to do (RPGA, Warhammer, Clix, other Magic tourneys, vendors, Guitar Hero events, tons of other stuff..www.flatcon.com for more info).
Rules: Non-sanctioned, 15 proxy.
Prizes: 1 Signed Unlimited Mox Sapphire for first. I know this signature is legit because I got it myself! This prize is guaranteed.
I will add further prizes soon, but I have lots of available bling cards, as well as other traditional cards.
Format: Rounds depending on amount of people playing, cut to top 8.
More information:
www.flatcon.com for more information about the con itself.
The directions to the con are on the website, but it's on the west side of Bloomington/Normal in the Interstate Center for anyone who knows the area. It's about 2 hours from Chicagoland and 2.5 from St. Louis and 3ish from Indy and Madison (all times approximate to your personal speeding level).
We're hoping to make this a yearly event, so come on down for the second Type 1 tourney in Bloomington in less than a year..
