Hey guys, I'd like to do a weird block format where you make decks from sets that were never meant to really be played together. I'm thinking of a format where you make decks with Weatherlight, Prophecy and Planeshift at the moment. I sort of want to include a base set like Mirage, but doing it with the later sets in a block might be more interesting.

Ideally, this event would reward people who see weird interactions and love digging through Gatherer for underutilized cards. There would obviously be no banned list for it.

Any takers? I'd like to do at least an 8-man, run online.

You mean Bring Your Own Block?  Traditionally the rules were as follows:
Any first set
Any second set from a different block
Any third set from a different block

If a card was banned in any of those blocks, it's banned.  (I believe Legacy banned rules follow).

Would you run it that way or differently?

I just want a format with the only sets you use being WL, PR and PS. I think it'd be fantastically weird. It'd be a challenge for deckbuilders to put something together out of literally nothing. The downside is that there might be a lot of X/Y/z Aggro with nothing else really possible, but preliminary research shows that those sets have a bit of potential for variety.

These formats are really fun - at one point I played a block with Exodus, Apocalypse and Legions and it was great.  I'll give this one a shot.

I'm interested, but this particular point in time smells distinctly of Finals.  I could certainly manage 3 rounds over the course of a week, but I would need "Sorry, can't play at all tonight" to be something acceptable to say if necessary.

I'm in, I just need the starting date to be at least in a few days.

I think perhaps I'd want to start it after the new year so people with exams, holidays, vacations, etc. can all have time to think about their decks and fool around before having to play. Sound good?

I'd probably get down on this in a week or so. I've still got to take down three more finals before then however.
