Bouncing Psychatog after it is pumped.....- damage?

Hi,

if the opponent attacks with Psychatog, pumps it to lethal damage and i want to bounce the Atog before i take the combat damage....is that possible?
Or do i have to bounce before he pumps (if he does it with the perfect timing)?

Before you would leave any step, both players have to pass priority in succession with an empty stack.  So no matter what he does in the Declare Blockers step, before he can move to the "Combat Damage" step, you get a chance to plays and abilities.
