So I was exhausted when I started my flight on Sunday after a long day of judging on Saturday and a long drive back home Saturday evening.  As a result, my ability to evaluate cards properly was shot when I sat down to build.  I ended up with what I figure was probably the most obvious decent build, but I can't shake the feeling there's something else that would have worked better.  I'd love to hear what other people think of my build and where I went wrong, if I did.

Here's my pool:
Quote
White
Avian Changeling
Changeling Hero
Cloudgoat Ranger
Goldmeadow Dodger
Judge of Currents
2xKinsbaile Balloonist
Kinsbaile Skirmisher
Shields of Velis Vel
Springjack Knight
Summon the School
Surge of Thoughtweft
Triclopean Sight

Blue
2xAmoeboid Changeling
Familiar's Ruse
Merrow Commerce
Merrow Harbinger
Paperfin Rascal
Protective Bubble
Silvergill Douser
Sower of Temptation
Stonybrook Angler
Streambed Aquitects
Wings of Velis Vel
Zephyr Net

Black
Bog Hoodlums
Boggart Birth Rite
Exiled Boggart
Eyeblight's Ending
Facevaulter
Hoarder's Greed
Lys Alana Scarblade
2xMoonglove Winnower
Peppersmoke
Scarred Vinebreeder
2xShriekmaw
Squeaking Pie Sneak
Thieving Sprite

Red
Axegrinder Giant
Blades of Velis Vel
Crush Underfoot
Flamekin Brawler
Flamekin Harbinger
Glarewielder
Incendiary Command
Ingot Chewer
2xInner-Flame Acolyte
Mudbottom Torchrunner
2xSmokebraider
Stinkdrinker Daredevil
Tarfire

Green
Bog-Strider Ash
Cloudcrown Oak
Elvish Harbinger
3xGilt-Leaf Ambush
2xGilt-Leaf Seer
Incremental Growth
Lace with Moonglove
Nath's Elite
Primal Command
Spring Cleaning
Warren-Scourge Elf

Other
Auntie's Hovel
Colfenor's Urn
Moonglove Extract
Wanderer's Twig

I built the following:
Quote
Eyeblight's Ending
Hoarder's Greed
Lys Alana Scarblade
2xMoonglove Winnower
Scarred Vinebreeder
2xShriekmaw
Squeaking Pie Sneak
Incendiary Command
Tarfire
Bog-Strider Ash
Cloudcrown Oak
Elvish Harbinger
3xGilt-Leaf Ambush
Gilt-Leaf Seer
Incremental Growth
Lace with Moonglove
Nath's Elite
Auntie's Hovel
Moonglove Extract
Wanderer's Twig
8xForest
6xSwamp
2xMountain

I went 3-1 with this, with my loss coming in round 1 to a guy who had both Hoofprints of Spring and Purity in his deck and saw both in both games.  The second game he also saw the 7/7 changeling.  I was basically outclassed by his bombs.

So did I build the right deck? The 2 Shriekmaws and the 3 Gilt-Leaf Ambushes made this deck pretty obvious to build, but looking back there are some strong blue cards there.  How would you have made this deck?

So I suppose I should take The Fringe back out of my sig now...

I played in a release today. I registered a very very good pool, with no real money cards, and got handed a very mediocre or outright bad pool...with a Thoughtseize.

The guy who had to hand over the Thoughtseize was upset about it, until he looked at what was given to HIM and saw both Gaddock Teeg AND Doran. So.

I am pretty sure I misbuilt my deck. None of my tribes were very deep, and I had few bomb uncommons or rares (I think?). I had plenty of good cards but they were spread among all colors, all tribes, and not much really interacted with each other well. Or maybe I just don't know what I'm doing - a theory supported by constantly misplaying throughout the games.

Anyway here's my pool:

Goatnapper
Giant Harbinger
Tarfire
Mudbutton Torchrunner
2 Stinkdrinker Daredevil
Fire-Belly Changeling
Consuming Bonfire
Giant's Ire
Thundercloud Shaman
Wild Ricochet
Needle Drop
Boggart Shenanigans
Inner-Flame Igniter
Soulbright Flamekin
Flamekin Brawler

Herbal Poultice
Springleaf Drum

Shimmering Grotto

Wispmare
Surge of Thoughtweft
Dawnfluke
Lairwatch Giant
Goldmeadow Harrier
Oblivion Ring
2 Hillcomber Giant
Veteran of the Depths
Spingjack Knight
Knight of Meadowgrain
2 Shields of Velis Vel

Kithkin Daggerdare
Elvish Handservant
Elvish Eulogist
Elvish Branchbender
Guardian of Cloverdell
Epic Proportions
Primal Command
Big-Strider Ash
Immaculate Magistrate
Elvish Promenade
Oakgnarl Warrior
Spring Cleaning
2 Gilt-Leaf Ambush
Changeling Titan

Glimmerdust Nap
Aethersnipe
2 Amoeboid Changeling
Merrow Commerce
Broken Ambitions
2 Benthicore
2 Stonybrook Angler
Faerie Harbinger
Spellstutter Sprite
2 Streambed Aquitects

Warren Pilferers
Spiderwig Boggart
Skeletal Changeling
Mournwhelk
2 Thieving Sprite
Makeshift Mannequin
Boggart Harbinger
Nath's Buffoon
Nectar Faerie
Quill-Slinger Boggart
Fodder Launch
Thoughtseize
Exiled Boggart

And here's what I played:

Goatnapper (never once used ability)
Giant Harbinger (very good to get Changeling Titan with)
Tarfire
Mudbutton Torchrunner
2 Stinkdrinker Daredevil (necessary to play Giants)
Fire-Belly Changeling
Consuming Bonfire (the only time I really wanted to play this was on that 2/4 elemental guy and I couldn't)
Giant's Ire (terrible, should not have made MD and probably not SB)
Thundercloud Shaman (MVP)
Wild Ricochet (never used. sucks that it does so little to Neck Snap)

Springleaf Drum

Shimmering Grotto

Lairwatch Giant
Goldmeadow Harrier
Oblivion Ring
2 Hillcomber Giant

2 Gilt-Leaf Ambush (boy I wish this clashed for each token)
Changeling Titan

Glimmerdust Nap (Third Eye card really fucks this one over)
Aethersnipe (slow but solid)

8 Mountain
6 Plains
2 Forest
1 Island

My deck stunk to high heaven. Probably W/G/x would have been better?
