Now that we have figured out the templating and proper abilities of my creature, it's time to get a bit deeper into things..

For reference:
Part 1a
Part 1b

Creature - ?
At the beginning of your upkeep reveal the top card of your library, lose life equal to it's converted mana cost; all other creatures get -X/-X where X is equal to the life lost in this way.
Whenever a creature is put into the graveyard from play, gain 1 life.
P/T: 2/2

Welcome to my 3rd part to the ongoing series to make my dream card.  So far we have decided on exactly how my creature acts and how hard he hits for.  Now for some flavor.  As a 2/2 we are the domain of anything from Human Clerics to Demons.  This part can't possibly be a poll from the sheer size of information required at this point.

As the poster, it is your job to suggest a creature type, but on top of that post your logic on exactly why.  Along with your creature type you may suggest a creature name and the winning creature type (or agreed upon type) in this case will automatically have their name submitted as  a choice for my creature's name.

Good luck and I hope to be inspired!

Demon is just out; it's too small.  I'd look for some interesting flavor spots to fill in.  Unfortunately black (and I think also white) tend to be fairly uninspired as far as cool creature types go.

You also probably want to avoid any block specific creature types (like Kithkin) for flexibility.

Then I looked at it another way.  What if it was a demon some sort of lawful/good Priest or Wizard summoned and enslaved?  It's constantly battling with you, and there's some amount of corruption you have based on just having to battle with it.  It's fighting you for control, but it also has some amount of sheer joy at just being able to massacre.

It's still a relatively small demon so you'd need some compelling flavor text to head that direction, but I think I find it interesting.

The limiting factors -

2/2 body (weak in combat)
BW (either corrupted by black magic, or undead)
Doesn't fly (no Angels, Vampires etc...)

It needs to charge up it's move or spell, which it can only do once a turn.  To me, that sounds like a mage frantically turning through it's spell book, looking for a spell.  The creature is casting random spells of destruction.  A nihilistic attitude or sorts.    I would go with Human Wizard.  Other creature types could be Leonin or Kithkin.  The name would be more fun if the creature could also kill itself.  Then the creature could be in a suicidal depression, ripping random pages out of a spell book trying to kill himself and everyone around him.

Another take on it could be the approach of a Necromancer or Lich.  That could be a zombie wizard.
