For those who don't know, Idylic Tutor is a card from morningtide.

Idylic Tutor  {2} {W}

Sorcery

Search your library for an enchantment card, reveal it and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

Now, the way I see it, this card essentially allows you to run another 4 copies of Bargain. Could it have a place in flash-rector, or could a deck be built around this card? It seems to have potential, but I could be wrong.

Maybe if Dreamtides gets unrestricted Smile

At the moment, I don't see this card making much of an impact.  That doesn't mean it won't, though.

Peace,

The problem with bargin has always been its cost. Having of cost an additional {W} {2} to not become a duress target seems bad, especial the awkward  {W}. Also, bargin in hand is not exactly were rector needs it to be.

edit: We don't even use enlightened tutor in this format

The best target seems to me to be Fastbond.  Getting Crucible out on turn 2 with a Mox and then Idyllic Tutoring for Fastbond and playing it on turn 3 could be good.  I just don't know how to make a deck around this.  I will probably try some time in the near future.

The cost on this card will probably warrent it's exclusion from vintage.  Most decks  that would use the effect this card produces would rather use either rector which will get the enchantment into play 3-4 turn or use enlightened/black tutors to grab the card as they are all cheaper.

Basically, there are similar cards that cost less, so this one won't make a big impact.

3 Mana?
Sorcery speed?
Only finds enchantments?
IN WHITE!

Where do I sign up?

The only 3 mana sorcery speed tutor that sees play is grim tutor, which can be ritualed into. This card is terrible for vintage.

Yea there is no way that this card will see very much play at all if you ask me. There are sooo many better tutors out there that are more efficient and well faster. Wasting mana on your turn to drop a 3 mana enchantment tutor seems like a huge loss of tempo.

Also what deck needs to be searching to find enchantments? I guess if you REALLY need that Moat or a fastbond but usually in decks playing fastbond you have better ways to spend that mana. Other then that sure why not play it, but there are many other tutors that seem to be much better options.

The card is barely even limited or standard playable, only a fool would play this.

Merchant Scroll can be seen as restricted in a way because should you have 2 in a hand, only one is really useful (that is, only one can get Ancestral)."
