Hey all,

I'm going to play in a tournament this week. I still dont know what to play for it.
The metagame will be: Ichorid, Flash, 9Sphere decks and some random aggros.

Wich deck will best suit this metagame? I'm thinking about Oath...

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to TheManaDrain Breed,

To start I'm going to point you to the rules section of the site as I'm pretty sure the Moderators would like to see more content in the post.  Next I'm going to suggest that asking for Deck choices might be better off in the Development forum.

Anyways, let's get on with it shall we...which deck to play, which deck indeed.

Ichorid and Flash are hated out in similar ways and every player will have the hate for them so I wouldn't play either.  Flash also has consistency issues as another strike against it, however it offsets this by raw speed when it has an appropriate hand.

My friend has been playing Tidespout Oath right now and he's very happy with it.  Against any deck that runs creatures, it has a faster game plan.  Against combo decks, it can control/disrupt the opponent long enough to get the combo out.  This is barring some combo decks that are said to be "pure combo" and thusly win on turn 2-3 with a decent turn 1 percentage.  There are many outs and ways to recover from certain positions with this deck and should be a good choice untill the meta changes from a decent amount of aggro or untill the deck becomes hated out for it's numbers showing up at tournaments.

MUD decks and thier ilk are good choices as well right now.  It's pricey to build, but if you have a decent allowance for proxies, you might just like the deck.  If you think a bunch of Tidespout Oath decks might show up, then don't play these decks or anything else with critters.

good luck with the choices

Actually Goblines sounds good for that metagame.  Run versions with Leyline of the Void in the main and be sure to have Shattering Spree, Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast post board.

Goblines does well against Ichorid since you have maindeck Leyline of the Void.  Also the Strip and Waste can help.

Leyline helps you against Flash in game 1 and then you have REBs and Pyroblasts post board.  Flash is further bothered by Mogg Fanatic and chump blocker.

Stax absolutely hates playing against Goblins in general.

Finally Goblines generally does well against Random Agrro.

Good luck!

This is embarassing.
I have almost no testing experience against Tyrant Oath.  I have tesed a ton against Oath in general, but I usually test against various version of ICBM Oath or Intuitive Oath that is played in Europe.

In general Oath is a terrible matchup for Goblins.

Anecdotally I have heard that Red Elemental Blast is really good against Tyrant Oath.  Way back over a year ago Jeremy Sauld won a tournament in Cary with Tyrant Oath but refused to bring it to Roanoke because he thought it would be REB infested.  Is REB really that good against Tyrant?  It seems to me that will just Oath again and win anyway.

Leyline might be pretty good against Tyrant Oath.  The first time they Oath you are going to RFG a ton of their deck and they might Oath out Witness in which case they get nothing.
This is conjecture as I have never actually played a Leyline against Tyrant Oath.

Finally, if you add black to Goblines there is the new black Goblin that acts as a Jester's Cap.  This guy would be great against Oath.  Adding Black to Goblines might make sense since you get the new Jester's Cap Goblin and you can now hardcast Leyline of the Void.  Between Leyline of the Void, the Jester's Cap Goblin and REBs you might be able to meta Goblins to beat Oath.  In general, if I expected a lot of Oath I would probably play something other than Goblins.

I lost to goblins at TMDXII with Tyrant Oath.

I would say, you stand a chance to win Game 1 with goblins, esp if they don't know you are goblins and you have a fast hand with them having a medium hand. Runing maindeck Pyrokensis + gempalms/fanatics will help.  Earwig  squad (jester cap dude) can definatly steal you game as well.  Depending on the build however, you may end up finding it difficult to win game 2 and 3.  They will mull more agressivly to a turn 1 or two Oath, and they will have 4 or 5 creatures in the deck including Blazing Archon (if they board like I do).  Honestly, if your running black you might want to run Duresses/thoughtsiezes/Therapys Maindeck or board - this will really help after they agressivly mull to an oath.  Because REB is going to go way downhill in effectiveness once the oath player reaches for his board.

So, I wouldn't expect Goblins to beat Oath on the average in a best of 3 match, but it won't be as much as a shut-out as many would have you believe.

Thanks for all the answers! Of course Goblins seems to be a really good deck to play in French metagame, but I'm not really fan of red mens. After some searching on this Vintage Open Forum, I found a thread talking about DrainTendrils. It seems really good against all mono brown played here and have good sideboard possibilities to beat Flash and Ichorid. I may test a version with some red for main deck Empty the warrens and sideboard with 4 REB to beat flash (I'm not sure about this, I may not add red and play 4 Duress instead).

Oath seems to be the best deck for my meta, I tried to play it but my playskill seems to bad with the deck.
