When Ochoa has stormcount counters out, it's over.

Austin vs the Shops. Mike's shops are nicely drawn proxies that I took a pic of for later.

Austin's Viashino Heretics DESTROY Shop Decks (actually a reason I went MUDStax with Damping Matrix SB.

A man called E piloting Beta Keeper with Moat, maindeck Fireball and Jaemdae Tomb! Killer! (vrs BR Homebrew Hippys)

Michael Klemic vs Dr.Tongue I belive. Or not. Both had shitty days, and this early on, I belive both lost. Who knows. Anyways Klemic gave me a Jap Tolarian Academy and Jap Tinker to upgrade his Beta Ruby with my Beta Ruby. I love beat power and I love not playing with proxy Tolarian Academys since Astin is a little bitch and can't handle proxy Tolarians. (I sold 2 when I was broke. Sad Now I have 2! Smile )

Cory vs Klemic. Klemic got pwned. (I assume)

Webster's Bob Assault vs HomeBrew Hippies. Hey, Web was due, after last tourney getting paired against teammates all day.

Dr Tongue's "Wee"k board position. Get in there little wee, get in there! In Mike's defense (Mono-R Shops), Mike won a foil Thoughtseize and a regular Thoughtsieze and a Mutavault at FNM the night before. Mike is a Winnar!

STFU What? Drain! you Suck! (this is stuff I overheard. Austin's Salvager deck is pretty broken. It's got 6 ninja attack plans (7 if you include mulling to 4 for Lotus, TimeTwister, MisD and Force.

Cory and Jeff in Swiss!

'94 Keeper, isn't it awesome? What the Buck?

More great Action Maybe this WAS the finals?

The field of DOOM!
Jeff somehow VTutored for Berzerk without tipping off Cory and won through this gamestate!

Webster digging for that happy place under Shoptastic PartyPooperPieces

Game 2. Cory's Gorilla Shaman totally pwned Web's Explosives for 2 he laid to get rid of 2 spheres.

Huang sticking Tarmogoyf into Austins 2Hole.

Mike Strmonthingorother's Proxy Shops. Kinda nice, eh?

All bad for Web. His final topdeck to save him: Yagomoth's Will with 3 Sphere's out. Sad

Jeff's Turn 2. Austin doesn't look happy. Jeff hand double force backup on turn 1 for anyplay he made. Austin watched Jeff go from 20 life to 3 life on a will turn.

Some of these pics are out of order, it seems, or not. but Enjoy.

After testing with Austin, I realized that his PostBoard configuration destroyed me, and that was BEFORE he put in Heretics.
I looked up my MUDStaxDomination list from a few months ago, and made a few changes (DAMPING MATRIX) and went with the following:

// Lands
    3  Ancient Tomb
    4  Mishra's Workshop
    1  Tolarian Academy
    1  Strip Mine
    4  Wasteland
    1  Ghost Quarter

// Creatures
    3  Triskelion
    1  Karn, Silver Golem
    4  Metalworker
    3  Juggernaut

// Spells
    1  Black Lotus
    1  Mana Crypt
    1  Mana Vault
    1  Sol Ring
    1  Mox Emerald
    1  Mox Pearl
    1  Mox Sapphire
    1  Mox Jet
    1  Mox Ruby
    1  Memory Jar
    2  Staff of Domination
    3  Crucible of Worlds
    3  Smokestack
    4  Chalice of the Void
    1  Trinisphere
    4  Sphere of Resistance
    4  Thorn of Amethyst
2  Sword of Fire and Ice
    1  Mind's Eye
    1  Bottled Cloister

// Sideboard
SB: 2  Damping Matrix
SB: 4  Uba Mask
SB: 2  Orb of Dreams
SB: 2  Ankh of Mishra
SB: 3  Jester's Cap
SB: 2  Platinum Angel

Round 1: Webster. I masterfully roll a 4 and psychically forced Web to roll a 3, so that my hand of 6 post mull actually caused Web to mull to 5. Sweet.  My turn 1 play was Mind's Eye with Tolarian in hand. He played something.
Turn 2, I played Tolarian and something and said Go. He Brainstormed, Gushed, maybe even Recalled, and I drew 6 cards, but no actual ShopLocks. He blew me away.
Game 2: He mulls to 6 I believe, and I put a bunch of stuff on the field.  Unfortunately, one of those things was Bottled Cloister.  He Bounced my field in response to the RFG trigger, and went all Will happy on me. (Note to self: Board out Cloister and NOT the more expensive Mind's Eye). Masterfully played sir.

Round 2: Michael Klemic - Tog
He mulls to five, I play lots of locks. He loses
Game 2: He plays Ruby, Go. I play lots of stuff. He loses.
Game 3: See game 1 and 2.

Round 3: Junior - Oath of Noobs
Game 1, I play turn 1 Chalice for 0 and Sphere/Thorn. He scoops under this lock, AFTER I get Crucible/SmokeStack/Strip lock, and AFTER say, 8 turns. You aren't going anywhere chump.
Game 2: Junior masterfully plays basics, fetches and finally Orchard/Oath under Trinisphere.
Game 3: Turn 2 Platinum Angel after Turn 1 Lock Lock Lock.

Round 4: Cory Redmond - MonoRed Shopp Aggro
Game 1: I win die roll for 4th time today!
I lose to the beatdown. I had SmokeStack going, but he had beats, and I SHOULD have probably ramped SmokeStack to 2 or 3 earlier, but I did the untap, roll for crypt, sac to stack, draw kinda play, when I SHOULD have untapped, Rolled for Crypted, Sac Crypt, Ramp Stack to 2, draw, etc. Sad
I was at 3 and lost die roll.
Game 2:
I have 2nd turn Juggernaut with Sword F/I in hand for turn 3 pwnage to his welder. Unfortunately, he played his own Juggernaut, so both of our Juggs died and he had fodder to weld in and out. I didn't see my 3 Trikes, 3 Damping Matrix or other SB goodies. I died. Sad

I had lots of fun!

After the tourney, after I dropped of Junior and Austin, my best friend Annie took me out to party with the "Dixon Folk" until 6am for my BirthDay Sunday) and hence the late posting of results and pics. Whoot!

the name kelly sounds familiar, but the only other people i really remember are tim, spike, poon, darcy, soup, lazer, and kevin tippleman. last i heard, spike, tim, and poon mostly draft, kevin still plays t1 on occasion, and darcy is out in sf (i think) doing his acting stuff....

anyways, if i'm ever back in sacto again i'll try and make one of the events for sure!

peace

I believe the game where I misd'd twice for Austin's Recall and then Forced his Time Twister was a fairly epic move. I should have won that game, but as usual, all of my kill cards are stacked neatly on the bottom of my deck.

Congrats to Jeff on the win! I went 2-2 on the day which Lotushead descriptively eluded too, but had a good time anyways. Twice during my first two rounds I had my Ancestral Misdirected which I Forced back but they Forced back as well. I'll be packing some Misdirections as well I imagine next go around.

Props for me not leaving my Duress in the sideboard by mistake.
Not playing against Ichorid to SB them out.
Adventures for sticking with the prize structure w/ such a dismal turnout.
