I have to be the dick who points this out. Sorry!

Those are "Workshop Slaver" decks, not "Control" or "Drain Slaver". It might through off some of the number crunchers and archivers such as Menendian and Morphling.de.

Thanks again for a fun event... my fish were entirely ineffective, losing to everything except the bye (and I still lost the roll).
I ended up in 19th place.

I made a few play mistakes - one such mistake was when I had a stifle on top and could've draw it using top, but thought I could wait a turn.
Another was just a sideboard mistake, with Oliver totally surprising me with sideboard engineered plagues.  He almost got two down which would've been game over (I lost anyway).

ELD's list is very intriguing to say the least.  Would I be correct in assuming that the four Misdirections where there for all the REB and Pyroblasts floating around?

They were key in our Top 8 match. I was very surprised when he had a third MisD when I started trying to swords Tog off the planet.

yeah ELD has been playing 4 misd since gush was unrestricted.  His argument is about the resolution of ancestral recall and how game state changing it is.  Do those Workshop Slaver lists have any mindslavers?  the vexing shusher is hot tech.

They do infact have 1 Mindslaver (between guilded lotus and ancestral recall).  They were amazing all day.  Not to get into a "powercreep" debate, but Mindslaver's power grows proportionally to the raw-power of your opponents deck.  So many games can be won on the back of a single: tap 2 shops -> mindslaver?

Interestingly enough, Jer and I had a mirror match in the first round of Top8 - game 1 I won with slaver into panoptic mirror -> timewalk!  and in game 2 he hardcast his Slaver without enough mana to activate, and I cast my slaver to Legend kill his (neither of us had a welder).

Sure, if you got the activation cost covered as well, so usually you want Gilded Lotus. Smile Back when the deck was more widely played (2004), Gilded Lotus became a must counter because it cleared up the decks awkwardness to the point of it being scary.

Updating deck titles to Vexing Slaver and Workshop Slaver respectively.
