I was recently asked If I could secure a very high res graphic of a traditional chinese dragon.  The purpose for which would be to get a roughly 6 foot by 12 foot image that would look "not too blocky" from about 5-10 feet away.  (it would be a decal for the side of a sail-boat).

Nothing I can google-search for is of high enough DPI for this.  There are graphic sites I've looked at, but memebership is usually listed as something like $99 for a month of unlimited downloads.  I've also looked into some free softwere that makes an attempt to conver jpeg stuff into vectors... Under the concept that a vector map can be enlarged basically infinitely.

I don't mind spending a few bucks to buy the immage ... but I'd like to avoid a massive subscription fee.  I was hopeing to come in around $10, up to $20 to get the image (printing the decal is expensive enough).   The other idea is to hit up some sort of vector softwere.. or download a vector image of what I'm looking for... but again the freeware I've found is not up to the challenge.

Any ideas?

Perhaps you can commission a local artist to paint a dragon mural-style on the side of the boat?

I think I'm all set, as it turns out there was some misscomunication... It needs to be like 1 foot by 2-3 feet, not 12... so i think some of the stuff I was able to find will bee good enough.  Thanks though.
