Eleven people showed up for brainstorm's going away party to duel for an unlimited time walk. Four swiss rounds followed by top 4.

The metagame:
2 gush tendrils (different builds)
1 doomsday
1 gat
1 painter
1 painter noughts
1 painter mud
1 mono red shop aggro
1 5-c stax
1 ichorid
1 uwr bomberman

Top 4:
David Ochoa (gush tendrils) defeats Cory Redmond (mono red shop aggro).
Junior Cervantes (doomsday) defeats Jeff Neilsen (5-c stax).

Top 2:
David Ochoa (gush tendrils) defeats Junior Cervantes (doomsday).

Here's the list I played:

gush tendrils:
4 gush
4 brainstorm
3 ponder

4 force of will
1 chain of vapor
1 hurkyl's recall
4 duress
1 thoughtseize

3 merchant scroll
1 demonic tutor
1 mystical tutor
1 vampiric tutor

1 ancestral recall
1 fastbond
1 mind's desire
1 necropotence
1 time walk
1 yawgmoth's will

1 empty the warrens
1 tendrils of agony

4 dark ritual
1 black lotus
1 lotus petal
1 mana crypt
1 mox emerald
1 mox jet
1 mox ruby
1 mox sapphire

2 flooded strand
4 polluted delta
2 island
1 tropical island
3 underground sea
1 volcanic island

sideboard:
4 leyline of the void
4 dark confidant
2 engineered explosives
1 sensei's divining top
1 swamp
1 gaea's blessing
1 yixlid jailer
1 extirpate

round 1: bye
round 2: Junior Cervantes, doomsday, lose 1-2
round 3: Dr. Tongue, painter, win 2-0
round 4: Austin Martinez, uwr bomberman, win 2-1
top 4: Cory Redmond, mono red shop aggro, win 2-1
top 2: Junior Cervantes, doomsday, win 2-0

Despite winning, the tournament ended up as a lackluster finish for brainstorm & co for me. I never went off with fastbond and got no turn 1 kills though I was foiled in my one attempt of a pseudo turn 1 kill. My opener of [black lotus, dark ritual, duress, ponder, yawgmoth's will, empty the warrens, polluted delta, gush] on the draw vs bomberman's turn 1 play of: sapphire, sol ring, volcanic island , I play lotus, duress --> see: e.truth, misdirection, pyroblast, trinket mage --> taking e.truth, ritual, yawgmoth's will, duress --> pyroblast, ponder seeing [brainstorm, gush, ancestral] taking ancestral, ancestral --> he misdirects pitching trinket mage, warrens for 22. He draws into a second trinket mage and mana source and is able to play E.E. for zero and use it. I lose about 6 turns later to gray ogre beatdown.

Long live brainstorm. I will always remember you.

Jeff was there. He lost round 4 playing for top 4. Luis was busy with his family so he wasn't able to make it.

11 Players, no scrubs

After mike 1st turn killed me with PainterGrindstoneShop.dec, Austin fanned a 1st turn kill hand from his Bomberman list. Take that! I am avenged

JeffTheFob facing a signed Black Lotus. Keep your game face!

I still own like 12 cards in Ichorid.  8 of them Sideboard cards. Sad

Junior finally gets a piece of Ochoa winning 2-1, as opposed to getting squashed like a bug by Ochoa.

Dr. Tongue spent the whole day with peoples balls all up in his face.

Ill put more up later, as I have to take a road trip now.

Uh yeah, nice descriptive text, Jeff. I had started out 2-0 against Klemic after my DSC saved me from Crypt and Confidant beats. A nasty would have been Will turn wound up game 2.

Corey Redmond took me down with sphere's and Shops and Welders round 2 with an almost come from behind Will game 2.

Webster crushed my delusions of mediocrity with a round 3 2-0 games win. I had an active Stone and Painter but he had Blessing post board game 2. I did try to Bitter Ordeal it out but alas no fetchland to help. I think he FoW'd and I Forced back pitching a Volcanic and he Forced back as well. My next turn I drew into a REB that wound up stuck all game due to pitching Volc instead of Sea. So much for the one mana Vindicate/Counterspell.

Webster, some nice power cards there with Garfields sig. Is all your power signed by Garfield? (and the artist I noticed on a few?) Just curious.

Yes.

I got my time walk, library of alexandria, and one of my foreign yawgmoth's will signed by him back in 2003 at US nationals in San Diego (that was all the power that I had at the time). I got the rest of my power signed by him at 2004 worlds in San Francisco; Christopher Rush was there as well.
