If I play duplicant and choose to imprint a tarmogoyf, will my duplicant "grow" as additional card types hit the yard?  I thought it might as the goyf is defined by */*+1, as opposed to being a 2/2 that gains counters.
Thanks

Somebody tell Chapin how counterbalance works?

The Tarmogoyf's ability functions in all zones (including the RFG zone), so its P/T is the same while imprinted as it would be if it were in play. The Duplicant will have the same P/T as the imprinted creature (Tarmogoyf), so the Duplicant's P/T will also "grow" (or "shrink") accordingly.

I thought that the duplicant would get the current p/t of the gof, but not grow and shrink because duplicant does not gain creature's abilities.

He gets abilities; what he doesn't get are counters - so Duping things like Dryads, Pentavus, and Triskelions just gives you what's printed.

Duplicant {6} |Artifact Creature -- Shapeshifter| 2/4. Imprint -- When Duplicant comes into play, you may remove target nontoken creature from the game. / As long as a creature card is imprinted on Duplicant, Duplicant has the power, toughness, and creature types of the last creature card imprinted on it. It's still a Shapeshifter.

Duplicant does not get abilities.  It gets power, toughness, and creature types, nothing more.  It uses whatever the current p/t of the removed card is at any given time, so since the p/t of the 'goyf in the RFG can change, the p/t of the duplicant in play can change as a result.
