June 14 and June 15th, Enfield, CT.
There were about 120 players on Day I and 80 on Day II; that means 7 rounds and 6 rounds.

Travis (JuggernautGO at one point in time) ran this and did a great job. Going from not having run an event at all to running a huge gathering must be difficult, but Travis did so smoothly. It was a competitive two days with some great players, and was a fine way to bid farewell to Brainstorm.

This tourney was seriously off the meat rack! Day one I got blown out in the main event, but split for 1st/2nd in the side event with Rich Meyst. Day two I could have probably played elves and faired better.

I just want to thank Travis for running such a great event.

This tourney was a ton of fun.  Definitely worth the 16-odd hour drive out from Milwaukee for me.  I sure wish I could have gotten there against Rich in the finals, but other than that it was a pretty good weekend of magic for me.  After a trip like this, I definitely will think harder about making the drive out for a Waterbury some day.

There were exactly 112 players on Day One. Day Two only had 6 rounds, therefore must have been under 64 people. I think it was very close to that, somewhere between 55-63.

This trip was absolutely ridiculous, or as Jaco would say, That shit was definitely not whack! Getting to hang out with guys I don’t get to see on a regular basis as well as meeting a lot of the vintage guys I’ve heard so much about from the North East alone made the trip worth it.  Travelling with Jaco, Jimmy McCarthy and the Ohio Crew made the 19 hour drive a blast.  It was a shame Seroogy, TK, and Ben Carp couldn’t make it for various reasons but they were there in spirit and cardboard (I did in fact barn most of my cards from Seroogy and Ben Carp). 
Overall, Sandwiches were punched and highways were destroyed by the might of the Malice of Retribution and the Obsidian Juggernaut, and Twaun and Gustann showed us how to live a BMX Lifestlye (those two are f---ing CRAZY, for the record).    Those two could live in a dumpster and still have fun! (As another Side note, they would be there with Tool and Outlaw’s decks). 
As for the event, I started the day as the three zero hero, and then got blown out because I played a gush deck that wanted to be a dark ritual deck.   It sucked major balls and I’m glad I got blown out. 
Day two is the interesting story.  I built my deck out of cards I liked to play, regardless of how good they are in the deck.  I called it Team American, Fuck Yeah!, but it should have been called ShieldSphere.dec, because I was gunning for the zero sixer.   Turns out dark confidant is really REALLY good, as I only lost to turn 2 ridiculousness by former world champion Mark Biller, and then in top 4 to Rich Shay.   Top 4 was quite frowntown in the downtown, as my plan against oath was to not play against it.   I was paired in top 8 against AJ Grasso (I hear he’s good).   After winning that match in 3 and also mind twisting him (even though that didn’t matter), I looked at my top 4 opponent and immediately was walking the upside down smile mile when I saw I’d play the winner of Rich Shay and the other player, both playing oath.  Oh well.
I did get 100 in cash and a manaless ichorid deck for my trouble, which is funny because that was the cards I borrowed from Ben Carp and Tony Lyskawa in order to play.   

Funny moments of the weekend:
-   Juan getting brain from some Ukrainian at the Red Roof Inn while he was shwasted.
-   Me asking Juan how I can get out of work next week, during my top 8 match, and saying
“I’d tell my manager I busted my nut, but I don’t think that will work”.  But more hilarious was both Josh Franklin’s face at that moment, as well as Rich Shay’s and almost every other spectator, which was absolutely PRICELESS.

The tournament was awesome, and i got to meet some of the guys from out in the midwest...I did suck it up rather hard going 1-2 day one, but i had a blast after i was 1-2 due to alcohol and some other fun times...I didn't get to attend day two due to work...but i was there in spirit, although i couldnt play a game of magic to save my life this weekend...

Thanks Travis for having such an amazing event! I was glad to have been able to make it and to put up strong performances both days. It was nice to experience the New England metagame, put some faces with the names I have read about, as well as to meet some of my teammates in person. The tournament was well run, the prizes were ridiculous, and I hope that no one spilled any alcohol on anyones cards! Thanks again!
