If you're a vintage player in Texas and looking for a great place for deck discussion and tournament play please check out
http://www.tgcgaming.comWe're still in the beginning phase of our forum but we're looking for the help of the community, its players, and our vendors in order to create a heathly format throughout the region. We want to be able to create a place where players can get specific data about their metagame and make adjustments to their decks accordingly by listing Top 8's from shop to shop as well as turn by turn plays.
If you're interested in trying to get a tournament together then please by all means help us out. Doing so will help promote the growth of the format.
The reason for a "Vintage" forum is because TMD is loaded with bazillions of players who don't live near texas. TXGamers is loaded with standard/extended players.
TMD ends up with posts getting hijacked by players who tweak decks to fight their local meta, and the Texas meta (whatever coherent meta their is) gets excluded in the conversation. Also, Texas posts often get little feedback from non-Texas players, and the avalanche of posts end up pushing the topic off the charts before it even gets noticed by Texas players.
TXGamers has a ton of people who could give a rat's ass about Vintage and end up with a few guys spamming the posts with 1-2 word replies (usually about something non-Vintage) and carrying on an unrelated convo.
A strictly vintage site exclusive to texas residents could build up a fairly hurting Vintage community and would bring relevent posts to our metas and tourney announcements to our immediate attention. I am for it and implore others to join.
