It's Type 1 Season again at Eudemonia in Berkeley!

Eudemonia is holding a series of nine Type 1 Constructed tournaments with each having a Power Nine card as the top prize. The schedule is:

Tentative Schedule
Sunday, March 30, 2008    Mox Pearl
Sunday, April 20, 2008    Mox Emerald
Sunday, May 4, 2008    Mox Ruby
Sunday, June 1, 2008    Mox Jet
Sunday, June 22, 2008    Mox Sapphire
Sunday, July 13, July 6, 2008    Time Walk
Sunday, August 3, 2008    Ancestral Recall
Saturday, August 23, August 30, 2008    Timetwister
Sunday, August 24, August 31, 2008    Black Lotus

[Format] Each tournament will be run as a series of swiss rounds, concluding with a cut to top eight. Besides for allowing proxies, all DCI rules for Type 1 Constructed tournaments apply. Blank decksheets will be provided and decklists are required for each event. For your convenience, you can download a blank decklist form here and fill it out at home.

[Time] For each tournament, registration begins at 10 AM and play begins at 11 AM.

[Location] Tournaments will be held at the Eudemonia store: 2154 University Ave, Berkeley, CA. Downtown Berkeley BART is two blocks away.

[Entry Fee] The entry fee is $25 for each tournament except the last. The entry fee is $30 for the final Black Lotus tournament, except for those that win free entry from placing in previous tournaments. The entry fee also includes two free hours of computer time at Eudemonia for the day of the event.

[Prizes] First place receives the prize advertised for that event. For the first eight tournaments, second place will receive free entry to the Black Lotus tournament along with a first round bye.* Additional prizes will also be awarded to second through eighth place at each event, and a prize will be awarded at random to one player each round. *If the second place finisher has already received a first round bye for the Black Lotus tournament in this series, they will be awarded an additional bye, for a maximum of two round byes.

[Proxying] The tournament format will be Type 1 with up to 10 proxies allowed. Any deck containing proxies must be sleeved with opaque plastic sleeves. Proxies must easily be recognizable as the card they represent from the face, and must be made such that they are not easily recognizable from the back or when shuffling the deck. Contact the store if you have further questions about the proxy policy.

[Cancellation] With the exception of the final Black Lotus tournament, if fewer than eight players register for a tournament, it may be cancelled.

I won't be able to make the Emerald Tourney (this weekend), but some of Team Vacaville plan to come (Abe Junior and Austin).  Either way, My Camera and I are out of this one.  If anyone wants to step up to the plate with the pics, go for it. I'm also off line (at work right now) for a while. Cya TMDrs!

I recall hearing Eudo rescheduling some of the dates for the P9 Series.  If I remember correctly, it is the walk and the lotus, I am not too sure.... Check their websites to make sure you don't show up at the wrong dates ^_^

The Time Walk tournament was moved from July 13th to July 6.

This is very disappointing for me, since I will be out of town 4th of July weekend.

Are there a significant number of other folks who will be miss this tournament due to competing events with family and/or friends this holiday weekend?

If so I suggest we contact Eudo and ask them to move this event back to its originally scheduled time. I'd hate to see Eudo take a hit with a very low turnout for a relatively high-value tourney like this.

I edited dates in original post.

Eudemonia used to never switch dates. Weird. This isn't good or bad for me, just not the norm.  Hopefully I'll be able to make SOME of these! :/

Well, the original date is no good because there's a prerelease on that date.  In any event, I doubt they'd move it again so close to the event.

Presumably the tournament on August 23rd was moved because of the PTQ on that same day.  These things (prereleases/PTQs) weren't really within Eudemonia's control when they first came up with the schedule.

Awkward. Was planning on going to the PTQ on the 5th and then heading out of town that night. Oh well, at least I get to continue my streak of ducking Vintage.
