Just to clarify for everyone, Brian wasn't banned by anyone at TMD, not posting in areas other than his blog thread is his own choice.
As for the admins not deleting accounts, some of the reasons for that include
- other people may still want to search through past posts by user and TMD plans to let them, even if the user doesn't post anymore.
- more often than not, the user who requests their account be deleted comes back to regular posting at some point and then they've lost all their past posts, user profile information, etc. It's simply easier just to let someone not post OR if they really want something to stop themselves from posting, an admin will change their password to something they don't know (so we can change it later should they decide to come back).
there's a few other minor reasons, but those are the main ones - there's no real benefit to deleting accounts and it potentially saves everyone some hassles later in time.
