Myself and one or two others will probably be coming down from FDL.

Who can tell me how much the WI/IL tolls are nowadays?

I'm working on bringing more people to this.  Hopefully we'll actually get a decent turnout this time.

You have dust on your cards? You should use sleeves.

24 people.  Miraculously enough we finally got a 5-round tournament.  I crushed Oath my first two matches but then got paired with random aggro and lost the next three.  Frowntown.  I was hoping to play against Tez or BUG Fish, but all I got was Oath, Oath, Elves, Goblins, and It's Raining Men.

Ah well, it happens.   I have barely any clue what the top 8 was, but I'm sure someone will post it soon.

24?  That's quite the improvement.  I am happy to hear it, especially for the store's sake.

Top 8 in no order (lists will be emailed to me shortly)...

Some scrub with 3trike shop-aggro.
Dan Chapman with Mono-red Shop-aggro
Danny Friedman with Stax
Owen Turtenwald with a deck playing Green Creatures
Jaco with his usual BS with no draw engine and 88 distruptive spells.
Derrick with ?
James King with chimpanzee.dec (formerly known as Oath of Druids)
Damien Miller with OMG-RED DUDES (goblins)

Where were you LordThunderCat? Your presence was missed.

Top 8 after Swiss was:
1) me at 4-0-1 with Confidant Tez
2) ?
3) someone at 3-0-2 with Workshop
4) Owen at 3-0-2 with PT Berlin style Elves
5) James King at 3-1-1 with Oath
6) someone at 3-1-1 with Workshop
7) Damien at 3-1-1 with Goblins
8) Joe something at 3-2 with Workshop

There were 2 Workshop decks, 1 Goblins deck, and King James Oath in the top 4. I didn't stick around to see the end, but based on that top 4 I'd guess that King James was set up for an easy path to the Mox.

I didn't drop a single game in the Swiss rounds, then promptly lost 0-2 to Joe playing Workshops in the Top 8. My mediocre hands consisting of nothing were pretty much trumped by first turn Welder, Lotus, Vamp (for Bazaar), Sphere; second turn Weld in Sundering Titan. ; )

Props to the store owners for running a great tournament, and for giving out some great prizes to all of the top 8 competitors. The owner mentioned he'll be hosting Vintage P9 tournaments monthly next year, and I'll be certain to try to attend these on a regular basis.

I was saving a bit of cash for next weekend.  Plus, I have to save my secret tech to dominate Ohio next Saturday and Sunday!

Seriously Owen, Elves?  Can't you at least pretend to take Vintage seriously once in a while?  Next month are you gonna play UW Revellark?

Owens elves deck is sick.  He just got unlucky against me in top8.  I'm fairly sure he wouldve won the tournament under normal circumstances and he's had that deck in works for a while.

I knew someone would port that Elves deck to Vintage, I just didn't think it would be someone who could win with it.  Nice job, Owen.

I just said some scrub because he said to quote "I can't wait to get online and see what type of smack soly talks about my terrible play today".

It was more of a joke than anything....

He's just bitter because he got faded by 3 people who made Top 8.

Soly, having a huge draw engine doesn't really do anything if your deck doesn't get you anywhere while the opponent is doing relevant things the first few turns of the game. You know, like playing spells like Elves, Oath, Confidant, Mind Twist, etc.
