Hey guys. I realize I'm pooping out a lot of deck discussions here, but it doesn't seem that they exist less than 5-10 pages back.

My question is this: I'm trying to decide on a good TMD Open metagame deck and I think I've narrowed it to a couple:

1. Sui-Black
2. Ad Nauseam Storm Combo
3. TPS
4. Oath (sb Progenitus)

I'd rather not play TPS because it is a tough deck to pilot for that many rounds and right now I think it'll be the prey to a lot of hate + splash damage. Null Rod can be pretty problematic for it and almost every good hate deck runs Null Rod now. Chalice is also a bit of a problem and many of the hate decks run that too.

Oath would be good, but I find it a bit boring to play and possessing too many dead cards. I still may sleeve it up and test it, however,

Ad Nauseam is my FUN pick. It is super powerful and has the added advantage of being able to win via Tendrils without any help from Yawg Will on a pretty consistent basis. It also has a great silver bullet 4-of in Chain of Vapor. I'm seriously considering this deck.

However, I've been looking at some tournament results of late and it seems to me like Tezz decks and TPS decks are truly dominating T8's right now and those are the decks I want to be able to beat comfortably.

I think Sui-Black may be the deck for this. Here's my list. It's very similar to Menendian's budget list except that it is a)not budget and b)slightly different SB.

Sui-Black

Land (18):
13 Swamp
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine

Artifacts (10):
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Jet
4 Null Rod
4 Chalice Of The Void

Creatures (7):
4 Dark Confidant
3 Phyrexian Negator

Enchantments (5):
4 Bitterblossom
1 Necropotence

Instants (8):
4 Dark Ritual
2 Diabolic Edict
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Demonic Consultation

Sorceries (12):
4 Duress
4 Thoughtseize
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Yawgmoth's Will
2 Tendrils Of Agony

SB
4 Smother (Spinning Darkness ?)
4 Gate To Phyrexia
4 Leyline Of The Void
3 Extirpate

Based on this list I'd like to know if you guys think this is a good metagame choice and could, with the help of a good SB have a shot of also beating Stax decks and Fish decks featuring Tarmogoyf.

Be Honest. Thanks!

If I was going to play suicide, i'd splash green. goyf is a huge beater that won't wipe your board against aggro, and costs less. You can't play it with rit, but turn 2 rit could lead to a turn 2 goyf and a turn 2 confidant/bitterblossom. you could also play life from the loam, and maybe raven's crime, giving you some more staying power. it seems really good to be able to seal the deal and return multiple waste effects with meat on board. after you run out of gas, lftl + ravens crime is brutal.

I would cut Edicts for Smallpox, unless you think the land loss would hurt you more than them.

Only need one Tendrils imo.  A proper storm deck only runs one, so I can't imagine a Sui Black would use them so much better as to justify the second.

No reason not to splash at least one more color.  I would recommend Green or White so that you can take advantage of Seal of Cleansing/Primordium.  You want something better than Gate to Phyrexia to board in against Vault/Painter.

Green gives you 'Goyf.  But I don't find that too important to be honest since you can just run Negator for beats.  You can also do a singleton Loam to get Strip Mine recursion going.  It would also make Smallpox easily manageable and give you access to Raven's Crime  Also, I found a new love for Choke.  You also get Krosan Grip which is fun and very relevant.

White would give you Seek and you could even splash a Badlands to use Hide.  Both of which are excellent cards against any non-Fish match-up.  But white gives you Swords for those match-ups.  I wouldn't splash Cannonist for the record even if you do go white which helps against DSC as well.

You could also go with both and make it 3 color.

I would rather run Needle/Tormod's Crypt against Ichorid as they are both excellent cards for a few other match-ups.  I only really liked Leyline in the world of Flash+Ichorid+TPS.

Do you think you have enough beats in there? I def. agree with splashing green for Goyf, LftL+ Raven's Crime (I'm a huge fan of that combo), and seal of primordium. If you decide to go mono-black have you thought about adding in Nantuko Shade?

also, it probably makes sense to add some mishras factories. I think that 3 would be perfect, so you don't get a lot of them early, but they are an option as your hand is exhausted. They are also recurable with lftl.
