Consider playing Elves combo (glimpse/nettle/heritage/clamp/grapeshot) in a tournament. There will be TezzVault, Oath, Tendrils and some of the usual decks that I don't think are very difficult. But there will be one mono black deck with Ritual, Duress, Hymn, Smallpox, Pox, ENGINEERED PLAGUE and stuff. That don't look like a good matchup at all. Is there some cards in SB that can improve my matchup against that deck. I allready have 3xGleeful Sabotage, 3xKrosan Grip, 1xViridian Shaman (for chalice) and now have 8 places left. What about perhaps 4xTranquil Domain (vs Engineered Plague). Or is there some Elf or other green creature that says when (name) comes into play, destroy target enchantment. (just like Viridian Shaman is on artifacts). How does this look?

3 Gleeful Sabotage
3 Krosan Grip
1 Viridian Shaman
4 Tranquil Domain
4 Enchantment killer? Xantid Swarm? Compost? Not sure...

Ps. Is not any ichorid, dragon or other decks that rely on graveyard other than Yawgwill so have cut 4xLeyline.

I'd love to tell you something about your SB, but without your maindeck, I've absolutely no clue what to add or to remove. Wink

My current SB looks like this, without any Legacy nonsense (Engineered Plague is sooo 2004)

// Sideboard
4 Xantid Swarm
4 Viridian Shaman (none main, obv)
4 Leyline of the Void
3 Umezawa's Jitte

Swarm against Drain.dec (obv), Shamans against MUD/Stax/your favourite Chalice.dec (another obv), Leyline against Ichorid and Long (third obv) and Jitte against everything you either want to stretch the manacurve or you need some extra antiaggro power against.

Thanks shimster:

Maindeck is:

4 Birchlore Rangers
1 Elvish Spirit Guide
1 Eternal Witness
4 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Heritage Druid
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Nettle Sentinel
4 Quirion Ranger
1 Regal Force
1 Viridian Shaman
1 Viridian Zealot
4 Wirewood Symbiote

4 Glimpse Of Nature
1 Grapeshot
1 Lotus Petal
4 Skullclamp
4 Summoner's Pact

9 Forest
3 Windswept Heath
1 Wooded Foothills

Afraid of EE. Jitte was nice but when my 1/1s are 0/0-dead it's no use.

Perhaps for the last 8 spots

4 Tranquil Domain
3 Jitte
1 more Viridian Shaman

Or is there some better options against EE?

Pithing Needle. Yeah, it's alway a good solution to EEs. In addition, it shuts down Belcher, Grindstone and Time Vault. AND this friggin' Goblin Sharpshooter I lost to during testing (but then, who's playing Goblins?).

Is there a reason you run fetchlands? Without duals or Brainstorm, you open up yourself to Stifle without any benefits.

17 Snow-Covered Forest

4 Birchlore Rangers
4 Heritage Druid
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Nettle Sentinel
4 Wirewood Symbiote
4 Wirewood Hivemaster
4 Elvish Spirit Guide

4 Summoner's Pact
4 Glimpse of Nature
1 Fastbond
4 Skullclamp
1 Grape Shot
1 Regrowth

That's my maindeck. Fast forward, the only protection against blue based decks is going aggro. I run 17 lands because I really want to get a land down on turn two (and because of Fastbond, obv).

I did some testing with a black splash for Yawg Win in the main (instead of Regrowth) and Duress in the SB (against Combo), but in my opinion it's not worth the instable mana base.

How do you win the Stax MU with only 13 lands?
