Hey, was thinking of playing some commonkill again...Here's the rules we used the last time:
If a card has been common at some point, it's legal - Gatherer is used to verify.
No cards are banned (Although we considered banning frantic search and/or high tide)

Here's the decklist i used last time we tried this format:
Mana: (23)
23 Plains

Creatures: (31)
4 Ramosian sergeant
4 Ramosian lieutenant
4 Amrou scout
4 Fresh volunteers
4 Steadfast guard
4 Icatian javelineers
4 Order of leitbur
2 Thermal glider
1 Nightwind glider

Removal: (6)
4 Sunlance
2 Oblivion ring

Now the trouble is that high tide is very very very good in commonkill, it's a turn 3/4 combo deck that rarely fizzles, it basicly avalanches card-draw to the point of drawing the entire deck at which point it kills with Empty the warrens, Grapeshot or some X-damage spell (powered out by chromatic star/sphere)
Last time the rebel deck was completely unable to stop high tide, although it did pretty well against the other major decks (Affinity, empty the warrens and mono black control)
So my question and the real topic is: What white commons can stop or delay the high tide combo?
It seems to me that mana tithe and Lapse of certainty might not be strong enough to stop it, so are there any common cards that could stop fireball/grapeshot? For empty the warrens there's holy light, which should already be sb'ed to beat the empty the warrens deck (which is also quite fast)
