If you do or would play with Tokens in casual or competitive, what kind of art do you prefer on them? Something that's close to what it should be (like a Beast with said monster on there) or just anything cool? Custom art ones, official ones or just random anythings?

After seeing about a billion tokens in Standard, I was mildly curious. If you have a specific example, that's fine too, I know Roxas likes to show his off in the IRC channel.

I usually like something that resembles the token exactly or something that's vanilla.
Anything in between just seems wrong and confusing.

In the past I sometimes would bring a bunch of baby bananas ("bananitos") http://www.ocati.com/imagen/fotos/babanitos/bananitos.jpg

I eat them when they die.

Nowadays I just try to collect the tokens that Wizards prints when I draft.  It was a great idea on their part to start printing them regularly.

If I have a ton of them in play, like Empty the Warrens tokens, I'll just use one goblin token with counters on it, and sometimes a second one if I want to represent how many are tapped.

I picked up some great custom tokens on ebay for my Bitterblossom deck, very cheap too.

Everything looks just like the official faery tokens except for some very sexy nude girl pics in place of the dumb faery artwork.

I get some hilarious reactions because I mix them up with the normal tokens and pull them randomly.

I wonder if this type of distraction be considered cheating though? Smile

Not cheating, but it is/could be considered offensive.

I've been trying to acquire some Pikachu's for tokens for a while...but usually i just use dices. And two magic cards with the backside up, one indicating tapped tokens and the other indicating untapped tokens. Don't really care that much for the art Smile

I think you mean, "I Firespouted in my pants"

I used to use Monsters of the Gridiron cards for zombies, and Number Muncher cards (can't find a pic) for saprolings.

For tokens, I use Sailor Scouts from the old Sailor Moon game. They always seem to get some looks and questions, but they get the job done. I also carry around a number of Goat tokens just in case I need to make a token of a different nature than what the Sailor Scouts represent, such as in Peasant Highlander when I might be making Assembly Workers with an Urza's Factory and Saprolings with something else.

I haev a first turn Llanowar Elf. He casts Ancestral, a slightly stronger card from the same set.

I like to use a Mox Africa calling card, since it's vintage I'm usually playing.

Plus if I ever need to call Africa it's right there in my deckbox.
