You know? These lists are actually refreshing?

Non-powered Top 8 with such diversity.  Thanks for sharing!

There are a lot of surprising decks in this top 8.  I would love to read some tournament reports from this tournament, particularly for Ragnar's Suspend deck.

Playing against someone named Ragnar or Thor would probably be pretty intimidating.  I know that I would be a bit worried that if I won, he would cleave me in two with a huge battleaxe or something.

A Jimmy could sick the mob on me if I beat him.

I'm with LotusHead, these are great to see. Erik Luo's sideboard is a bit baffling, but otherwise, I enjoyed thinking of playing in a meta like this, like olden times.

I wonder if everyone knew things would be unpowered? There are lots of Null Rods in sideboards; would they have stayed if you knew the top 8 wouldn't have any power?

Other decks in this tournament was TezzVault, Hypergenesis, BW Fish, Affinity, UW Control, Merfolks and some other decks I don't remember. This is my results with merfolks. My deck was designed originally for a powered metagame (BoM3) but I changed -4 Null Rod, +2 Disrupt, +2 Mana Leak for this tournament.

R1 vs Hypergenesis 2-0 (Yeah, there was a Hypergenesis deck in this tournament...)
R2 vs TezzVault 2-1
R3 vs Painter 1-1
R4 vs Ad Nauseam 2-0
R5 vs Landstill 1-1 (chickendraw, needed a break before t8)
T8 vs Painter 1-2 (good matchup but bad played)

Here is the playoffs:

Jarle Tollaksen (painter) defeated Oddvar Raugstad (merfolks)
Erik D Skinstad (angel oath) defeated Nikolai Runde (goblins)
Thor Krukhaug (pox) defeated Ragnar Rosnes (suspend)
Erik Luo (ad nauseam) defeated Zenon Taushanis (landstill)

Yeah, but note that it's a small tournament.    Because it was less than 33 players, it won't make the cut for the bimonthly metagame report.

The fact that it was a small tournament is really why I'd like to see reports - to highlight some key interactions within these decks and against opponents' decks to try and understand how they actually work out in matches.  That insight may indicate ways to refine and possibly improve these decks for use in larger events.

Hypergensis seems god awful for vintage.

1)  The deck is not allowed to play anything costing less than 3 for obvious reasons.  That means you can't play power, brainstorm/ponder/recall, tutors, disruption aside fow/misdirection etc.
2)  The deck really only gains 4 ESG when you transition it from extended to vintage.

Somebody tell Chapin how counterbalance works?

"Of all the major Vintage archetypes that exist and have existed for a significant period of time, Oath of Druids is basically the only won that has never won Vintage Championships and never will (the other being Dredge, which will never win either)." - Some guy who does not know vintage....

Due to the fact that these decks played eachother then I don't think alot of them could have done it well in a powered tournament. My guess is that if any powered deck showed up he would have had an easy way to the top with only Merfolks and perhaps Pox and Landstill being hard after sideboarding. I may ask some of the players if they are interrested in writing a report.
