Hi, i'm newbie at vintage and i want to build some budget deck. But our metagame is full of Workshop aggros or Welder control, tezzerets, some oaths, some WUB fish. Workshop or welder control is always 1. and/or 2. I dont know vintage decks, so i dont know what is good against these decks. I have some ideas: Ying Yang , Suicide black, UW fish, goblins, merfolks, maybe some monoblue control, but it would be very diffucult to build. Do you have any suggestions?  Smile

Depends on how budget you mean and whether your meta allows proxies.  Ideally, for that meta I would suggest Manaless Ichorid with a combo kill.  If your read of the meta is correct, there is probably not much graveyard hate running around, and Needle doesn't sound that optimal either, so Ichorid should thrive.  With no combo, you can always race, and Ichorid can largely ignore the permission and lock parts which seem to be dominating currently.

If, for whatever reason, Ichorid hate still abounds, I would suggest BUG Fish.  Null Rod is a real beating against this field, and Goyf should give you the edge against the WUB Fish.  Be sure to sideboard heavily against that Oath, though.

I would agree with the above, Ichorid is the best choice.  Another option, if you want to go off the beaten path, would be elves.  'The Atog Lords' tourny report from when he ran it is a pretty funny read, and a nasty list.

I think selkie fish is way better then BUG fish, so i'd suggest that or ichorid...Although i'd never play ichorid since it's no fun for me.

If you can't use proxies I'd recommend Oath or Fish. They work pretty ok without power.
If you can't afford bazaar or can't proxy it, don't play Ichorid. It's just too inconsistent without bazaars.

Thanks for you suggests Smile. Proxies aren't allowed and ichorid is weird. What do you think about WB aggro? There is lot of discard against combos, kataki against Workshop, grave hate against ichorid and threshold.

Which fish build is the best against mirror? UW version with swords to plowshares?
And can you please send mi link to some good nonpowered oath? :)There is lot of oaths, i dont know which can be the best if i cut P9 from it.

For decklists there's always www.deckcheck.net or www.morphling.de  you'll have to sort through a lot of lists but you should be able to find an unpowered oath list or a powered oath list that you can easily modify.

Ichorid seems to be the nuts in your metagame. But as elgrillo said, if you're not allowed proxies for Bazaar, then don't waste your time.

It's a fun and easy deck to play with. All you need to know how to do is count to six and know about the stack in some cases. But always push to win every game 1 you play, because then they board in all their hate, then you have all to side in your hate for game three. One thing I'd worry about if you're playing Ichorid is if you're playing in a casual metagame, people will hate you. It's not a fun deck to play against as far as my preferences go.

Some of the Naya Zoo decks that have been placing recently are cheap, easy for non-Vintage players to pick up, and very effective if tuned properly.

If you check the tournament results forum, you should find one fairly quickly.
