Instead of Drains/Tezz?  I've never seen a deck list like this, so my apologies if the idea's already out there.

EDIT: I guess there wasn't much substance in the original post.  The idea would be increased speed.  Also since you'd be on red for Wheel, you could use answers like Ignot Chewer which gets around Chalice, be Duressed away, etc or even cards like Ancient Grudge if you used rainbow lands, then you wouldn't even mind disarding them to another Draw7.

I have tried it. It's ok, but you have that probl;em of giving them cards.  However, it does give you some serious gas.

Apparently this is the super secret tech (read: withheld decklists) that Top 8'ed/won the Steel City tournament.

Oh, I had no idea about that at all...

If anyone wants to try out a Draw7 build running rainbow lands and ancient grudge this weekend, just list "Doomsday" on your slip as deck creator Smile.

This is a little skew, but I have been trying Memory Jar in Drain-Tezz for a while with decent results.  It won me a game for sure at the latest Myriad Games event (read my report here: http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=38580.0) though that was a non-interactive turn against Elves!

The problem with Jar is that a) it's just another dead card when you're facing a Null Rod deck, and b) you'll almost never Tinker it out over the missing piece/robot.  It's a bit expensive too, but since you can wait a turn, blowing it during the next turn's upkeep ought to produce a win.  Like all Draw-7s, you'll be giving your opponent cards as well, though not permanently (loading their yard may not be an advantage...).

Draw-7s into Combo-Vault should be interesting, will have to test.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Which draw7's would you run?  The ones that seem best are Wheel of Fortune and Wheel of Fate; I was thinking of a Ugr shell running Regrowth effects alongside the normal selection of cards...and what about Bloodbraid Elf?  Would that be too slow?

You could use at least Timetwister, Wheel and Windfall.  Memory Jar I guess would be possible but I don't know why you wouldn't just Tinker for a combo piece instead.  Magus of the Jar seems slow.  Diminishing Returns would be no good because of the risk of removing Time Vault.  Wheel of Fate seems too slow.

To be honest I just made this to see if anyone would take credit for the real build or hint at what they're actually playing in it at Gencon.

That's about what I remember playing against in Pittsburgh as well.  My favorite part is the Windfall.  The big oversight, I think, is Mind's Desire (which was also not in the deck in Pittsburgh).

Edit:  Empty the Warrens is also amazing in a format where everyone is maindecking Hurkyl's to deal with Inkwell Leviathan.  I haven't seen a maindeck Echoing Truth in a long time.
