I'm there. As a side event, watch Jim Gaffney and I play heads up poker for a Chaos Orb!

I would get down on a side bet that he beats you in heads up poker.

@Ed--can you post where in the UMC this is? If we have out of towners, it'll be a great asset!
Ok all, when I knew I could play the ICBM open I asked Ed to mail me a deck to battle with. While something bad happened at the post office and it got mixed up and returned to Colorado, and had agreed to share my prizes at the next event in exchange for the help.
As such, I am donating 1 FOIL INKWELL LEVIATHAN to the prize pool, as well as a $25 gift certificate to Daphne's Greek Cafe! I'll let Ed figure out how best to distribute these, as t8 prizes or elsewhere. I'd love to have the inkwell go to the most ridiculous gamestate, like a triple FOW fight or a turn one kill--but whatever works is fine with me.
IN addition I will be putting a bounty on my head for you locals! I have two sweet proxy black loti I've used over the years, one foil cheatertastic one that tends to be in people's opening hands (warning: don't try to use this in a tourny!) and one doodled by the infamous Fucking Lou Christopher that I won in a poker game.
Since I have a lotus now, I won't be needing them. But you'll have to best me in order to take these from me.
Jimmy agreed to holding the heads up poker match for a chaos orb this day, so feel free to stop by and check that out. Should be epic!
Ok all, hope to see you there!

Hey all. I've returned to beautiful Boulder, and had the pleasure of catching up with some friends last night. One of the was our fearless TO, EDword. Due to a cramped schedule, he narrowly missed the scheduled meeting nessecary to secure our venue for this event.
Consider it postponed for now. He wanted to hold it the weekend of the 12th, but that's when Black Gold is holding theirs. So watch on these forums for when it will get fixed.
Sorry for the delay.

Black Gold's tourney is on the 13th.
So this isn't happening right? At least not on Sunday?

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I announce that I no longer hold an interest in organising Tournaments for Magic the Gathering. This comes from several new developments in my life, that i feel require my upmost attention, and sincerely the risk necessary to run the games just isn't fruitious enough to warrant the insanity of repeatedly attempting to make it work out.
As you all know there is a Type 1 Event scheduled for next week (Sunday, the 30th Power 9 series Game 4) unfortunately i must postpone/cancel this event until further notice, as we lost yet another venue which to have the event, i am not prepared or willing to move the location again at this time, so i will scout out another venue should the powers that be allow it. When i do find a place to hold this tourney, it will be my last Type 1 event indefinitely. I will keep you posted once a new venue is secured.
As for the Game 2 of my Platinum Series to be held on September 12th...at the moment this will continue to be held at the American Inn, in Wheatridge, if anything new develops or falls apart i will let you know asap. But this will be the last Type 2 event i will host indefinitely.
I will continue to play MTG on some sort of basis, so i'll be around to test, discuss developments in strategy, and most of all, for those of you whom consider us friends, i will continue to be a friend.
But please understand...the next 2 events are extremely volatile, they may not happen at all, i'll require them to take the path of least resistance for me to want to hold them...so let's keep our fingers crossed. I will inform you about the status of the T1 events future asap and the Type 2 events future as well. I will continue running an ebay store, so if you ever wish to sell me cards, or collections, or come over to my place to practice, i would love to have you over. Or just to have a chat.
It truly has been an amazing, life changing 3 years being your TO, but all things come to an end. Just know that more good things will sprout up in my place.
Peace, Love and Hairgrease.
Love, Ed Word

Ed, As an organizer myself, I completely understand what you go through to run these events. I really appreciate what you have done for Magic here in Colorado. Carl
