I dont get what point you are trying to make here. I would assume you are looking for critique? Wouldn't you want both mana and tormod's crypt with this deck?  Pithing needle seems like it should be in the board, just me saying but I havent MD'd a needle when I have been playing trinket mages in eons.  I would consider jumping on the band wagon of key vault shenanigans. The key is already easy for you to find and the vault could be a tutor target.  There is infact alot of directions you could take with this.   Lotus petal seems out of place as well.  I do not what else I can say, as I dont have enough time to sit here and think about this more.

Critique please

I chose lotus petal over mana crypt due to its ability to get turn 1 mana drains online.

The pithing needle is over tormods crypt due to a heavy meta of tezzeret, so a pithing needle is more usefull for that as well as dredge, by using it for bazaar

As for the key/vault idea, I've been pondering that for a while, but i'm not entirly sure what to cut for them, when the main win is the salvagers combo

Since you are playing trinket mages I do honestly think you should play mana crypt. This style deck works as kind of tool box-ish and being able to cast that guy easily is necessary.  You also have tinker, and what better card to sack to tinker other than mana crypt.  These days I believe that pithing needle is best suited for the sideboard..... then again you are not key/vaulting it up.  Also I think tormod's crypt is a much stronger play than p.needle in the main because it not only can stop dredge, but also makes some other decks not be able to use yawgmoth's will.  FYI I have trinket mage'd for Tormod's crypt more than lotus I think. 

On the issue for what to cut for the key/vault, try moving the two blasts to the board.  I do not know how good it will be, but it will mke your deck more threatening.  Anyway, what do you think about all of this?

I think that I want throw Inkwell Leviathan and Tinker in the sideboard for Time Vault and Voltaic Key, but I expect loads of Tezzeret in my North Eastern meta, which LOVES blue control, and I want to be able to cast that needle and SCREAM time vault, which is pretty effective against tezz

Also Pithing Needle is very versitile, and I've been playtesting with it, and I like to have it in my deck.


Right now, my plan is to start work on a sideboard.  It will probably contain a Time Vault and Voltaic key, which i will put in against quick decks as a way to win quickly myself, but right now, tinkering Inkwell leviathan is a GREAT way to win and I have been doing it a LOT

I got rid of 1 on the Maindecked Red Spells, to make room for another Aether Spellbomb (the playtests don't lie)
As far as the sideboard goes, it looks like this:

Sideboard:
3x Rack and Ruin (Tezz/Stax)
3x Stifle (Oath)
3x Path to Exile (Fish)
3x Pithing Needle (Almost Everything)

I'm not sure what else I want.  I expect heavy Tezz, filled out with fish.
I'm really unsure about what to do against Dredge however.  The logical choise is tormod's crypt, but it only lasts for 1 turn, and Leyline of the void sets itself up quickly and for free, and REALLY shuts down dredge.

You are running red so why not run a pyrite spellbomb over a second aether. It seems like the ability to kill with that is nice. You can use the creature kill but you can also just win right there. It requires nothing else. Honestly you can use Salvagers to turn into red mana and kill with it. Seems like the way to go in my opinion

You should probably cut cut the LED and add some more Trnket silver bullets like Tormod's Crypt. Also, red's not going to help you, you should probably play Duress or Thoughtseize instead.
