I was very happy with the way the "Best Shows Currently in Production" Thread and wanted to expand the discussion out to my other favorite source of entertainment, my Netflix streaming subscription. Their streaming library is constantly expanding, but I have a tough time keeping tabs on what new content they are adding. I know Netfllix makes intelligent suggestions based on your preferences, but as me and my fiancee rate things, it gets confused sometimes. As such, I am often finding myself stumbling across great shows that have long since gone off air and rediscovering them. Just last night I noticed Jeff Anand's facebook status noted that Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was now available and immediately added it to my queue. (I think I am in a very small minority that actually considers the later seasons of DS9 to be some of the best Star Trek ever made). Some other gems I have found:

Rocko's Modern Life
Dilbert
Pawn Stars
Full Metal Alchemist
Black Adder
Reno 911!

The end of DS9 is definitely the best of the Star Trek tv shows, although I'll always have more of a fondness for the middle seasons of next generation.

I believe that Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter is available for free streaming on Netflix. It is the pinnacle of film making.

Yeah, it definitely got better after the first few seasons when Janeway grew some balls and stopped whining like a bitch.

Try "The Tick" live-action. Much maligned, short lived, but stars Patrick Warburton in a spot-on rendition of the titular character.

Also, there's one season of IFC's "The Whitest Kids U'Know" and I found it to be some of the most consistently funny sketch comedy I've seen on TV since The Kids in the Hall (which is also on Netflix). Last I checked, Upright Citizen's Brigade was not available on instant.

Trailerpark Boys

Comin' around on this show, onto the second season. It's sort of like a show where every character is Andy from Parks and Recreation.

The show is a total slow-roll.  The first time I saw it, I sat through the first two episoded and thought, "I'm wasting my time."  Despite this, I persisted.  Then, before I realized it, I was through the first season, onto the second.  Then I insisted my wife give the show a try.  She followed pretty much the same pattern - by the time she was onto season 2, she was hooked.  It incrementally builds upon absurdity and hilarity.  It gets better and better every season.  Keep going!

Jim Lahey is an incredible character.

Right?  Brilliantly developed.

I'm a fan of around season 4-6, where it becomes the "Corey and Trevor" show.
