I wonder how good Three wishes was in the Tezz deck. It seems like a good card advantage, but is it better than Dark Confidant? The quicken deck really seems odd too, I love seeing top 8s like this that have good experimentation in deck techs.

I can tell you about the Three Wishes, as I was the one playing it.

The problem with Tezzcast now that we don't have access to TfK, this explosive deck run out of gas in the mid or late game. I have been trying to find something good enough to fit its space since then. Three Wishes appeared to be good in theory. A very strong top deck in the mid game, and almost as definitive as Ancestral Recall in the late game.

In Tezzcast it can be played even in the first few turns, as you play many cheap spells, lands, acceleration, etc...

I have just played it in a tournament, but the results are very positive. If you are in a hurry lookin for counters, it can be played as an instant. Definitely, good enough to be played again, much better than the results with Accumulated Knowledge. Anyway, I have find a new tech, and it may replace 3wishes in the next tournament.

Wow!  That quarterfinalist was playing Meandeck Beats card for card!  Sweet!

@ Cesar: I don't understand how you can play Three Wishes, but not Gifts Ungiven :p

Well, there's a reason in fact. Gifts Ungiven is obviously strong, you can just look for Vault/Key/Regrowth/Yawgmoth's Will and win. It can be played in the first few turns, and so on... So I knew it was good.

On the other side, I wanted to test a new draw engine of the two that I did have, GU was in the deck just 1 hour before I went to sleep, but then I have to take out two cards to leave two spots for Three Wishes, and I think it was the only reason to not use GU this time. I'm almost sure that next time I'll pack GU in the maindeck.

as much as I wanted this deck to work, in my MWS testing it has been awful.  Any chance the pilot could chime in on how it works or what meta considerations were taken?

The deck was played in a heavy Drain meta (Top8ing in a 140 people event, winning a mox) and then top8ing in a very heavy drain meta, with very good players.

You'd better try Tezzcast, it rules!  Very Happy

Quicken could be nice in Tezzcast, as Thoughtcast could be played instantly. Build some more around it and maybe this can work. Worth a try  Wink

Already tested them, and they are not as stronger as in the other deck, Thoughtcast already resolves most times, so there's no need to take them. That's what testing proved, at least.
