I was curious, goblin game from planeshift reads-

Oracle text: Each player hides at least one item, then all players reveal them simultaneously. Each player loses life equal to the number of items he or she revealed. The player who revealed the fewest items then loses half his or her life, rounded up. If two or more players are tied for fewest, each loses half his or her life, rounded up.

in a tournament setting how should we "hide" items. Much less what are the "items" out of conviences would u suggest we hide? this all hinges on when the card is played in a tournament. Its description of what it does is very vague in many ways.

Writing a number on a piece of paper (say, the one you are keeping track of life totals with.) would probably do fine.  Write number, cover with hand/deckbox. Reveal, rinse, repeat.
