By popular request (that is, Soly continually leaving me annoying IM's), it is results time again.  Sunday at Xtreme Games we had 16 players competing for a Mox Emerald and other prizes which I do not recall offhand as I clearly was not in the running for any of them.  Perhaps someone else can fill that part in.  Anyway, when all was said and done Vroman continued his hot streak and took it down, with David Spiehler splitting the finals with him.  The bracket at the end was as follows:

Rob Vroman > Isaac Siegmund
Ben Carp > Cheng Fan
David Spiehler > Mike Solymossy
Ryan Forsberg > Josh Lalo

Rob Vroman > Ben Carp
David Spiehler > Ryan Forsberg

Vroman > Spiehler (I believe they split)

I would like to point out (mostly to JACO) that despite my rather poor showing I still ended up in 9th place, exactly one spot ahead of him.  Seriously though, I scrubbed pretty hard, and St Louis once again had a very strong showing.  I think that next month I might need to actually make an effort to keep the mox in WI/IL.  But enough of that, I know you’re all here for decklists so I may as well put those up too.  In order of finish:

As usual, make a post if there are errors or really wonky things with the decklists (like an Oath deck with Volcanics instead of Trops), because it’s probably an input error on my part rather than an actual deck reg error.

Hope to see you all out there next month, and a big thanks again to Eric and Shannon at Xtreme for continuing to hold these events and keeping the WI/IL scene alive.

The 2nd place Meandeck Beats list is missing 4 Thoughtseize, if its the same list I've been advocating.

Ben Carp – ICBM 5cStax (or as I call it, “my decklist is printed in size 1 font”)

Size 7 actually.  My list was as terrible as it was hard-to-read.

The first game of the tourney was epicly bad for both of us. Gotta love Mana Crypt sometimes.

I have been toying around with workshop decks lately and am trying to figure out how their various incarnations would board for different matchups.  Would the Carps stax deck board in 12 vs Ichorid? (leaving out the razormanes?)

Something like bringing in:
4 Leyline of the Void
3 Blood Moon
2 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
3 Relic of Progenitus

The tabs and blood moons are obviously not synergistic but bombs on their own right.
For game 2:
-4 tangle wire
-3 choke
-3 smokestack
-2 sphere of resistance? or chalice?

Soly and me played some games for fun and gea was strong for him. I belive he told me his match up was either 60 40 or 55 50 but he had an advantage vs bob. However when I top deck like a beast your results arnt to accurate.

Because Glen Elendra dominates against combo and other Blue decks, including the mirror. If you have both Glen Elendra and Confidant then you have a winner, and can go beatdown.

In round 1 against Jimmy McCarthy, I just resolved GEA and he just couldn't win.  I would drain his stax and just blast him.

I didn't play confidant because I expected a lot of Oath, and I wanted a Creature that would still do something against them.   Plus, I've played Bobby Bad Bones so much that I wanted to do something new.

Bob is really bad against Oath, I agree. How was greater Gargadon? I assume it was for saccing Orchard dudes right?

I'm pretty sure I couldn't win because none of my cards were spells.  Gray Ogre would actually have been exactly as good as Archmage that game.

Fixed.  It was indeed mana crypt, and it was on the list Isaac.
